Question about Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Printer

Open Question

My canon Pixma Pro 9000 has a green and yellow light flashing back and forth. Last night the lid was open because i was soaking the print heads, and that little grey lever was up, and i accidently turned the printer on. I think it tried to fix the print head, it made a terrible noise. anyway, today i just have these blinking lights and i can't get them to go away, i tried unplugging and restarting but to no avail. What can i do?

SOURCE: Print head problems 7 yellow lights 1 green light, how do I fix

That's not a printhead problem, it's saying that the waste ink absorber is full. You need to have them replaced at a shop where they can also reset the waste ink counter.

SOURCE: Pixma Pro 9000 Canon Printer is printing terribly

You need to check your nozzle check print and see if all the colors print. Also many generic inks are not the right color. Take out your yellow cartridge and see if it's still yellow, if it's orange or brown you need a new printhead, there's a membrane inside that keeps the colors separate and when it breaks you get cross contamination of the colors.

Hi there

I have one like this, it will come out just lift the lever and just pull outby tilting it a little from the to side, after you taken it out gave it a good clean with some white sprites with some small brush, gave it a shake dry and wipe it dry, try not to touch the head it selfe.

Error code 6A00 green and yellow lights are flashing. Printer will not print.

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

I have installed the new magenta ink and it still only prints yellow, green and blue. How do I get it to print with all colors?

A clogged head will overflow into the adjacent head. I have gone through several pixma printers because I used inexpensive, but inferior aftermarket inks. I learned the hard way to use only genuine Canon ink. For some reason, Canon printers are more sensitive to aftermarket ink than other brands.

Try soaking the print head in a solution of water and alcohol in a jewelry cleaner or laboratory sonicator
