I have had ares ultra for several years and had my pc worked on and it lost it and dont know how to get it back forgot password

Lost Windows password:

  • Login as Administrator. Try with no password (load safe mode if you don't see Administrator). Press F8 during boot to access Safe Mode. XP only.
  • Login as other user (if other user is available) and manage users. Must be an administrator.
  • Reformat computer.
  • Use 3rd party software to remove password. Like http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html
  • Free software option would be Hirens Boot CD. This one is command prompt only. http://www.hirensbootcd.org/ Must follow instruction exactly.

Forgot my password

This is simple if you download the SmartKey Windows Password Recovery software make it bootable cd or dvd . And start the booting from this cd and flow the insrrctions on screen you will go to password recovery option and set all the password for administrator and if you get admin pass you can change all use passwords.

My husbands computer will turn on and has a screen page that says "Toshiba leading innovations" but will not open any farther. It it then has a blank screen and I can't get it to do anything...

Your computer is not booting. You are seeing the Toshiba startup screen. Windows is not working, so you may have a hard drive problem.
I would suggest inserting a windows startup CD or DVD in the drive and booting from that. You can then do a Windows repair.

I FORGOT MY PASSWORD ALREADY? WHAT CAN I DO?

When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator to log in once you have your computer running again you have to take control (administrator)control panel user accounts on the users tab, click the name of the computer administrator you can change the password there or if your computer has a system restore you can restore it to an earlier date which will have your personal settings

also you might try

when you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator to log in if you cant log in

during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

also

control panel user accounts

on the users tab, click the name of the computer administrator you can change the password there

hope this helps

My daughter recently enabled the password that she entered when she set up the EEEPC over a month ago. Unfortunately she doesn't remember what that password was! Now it boots no farther than the enter...

try F2 you didnt say whether it was set in the bios or in the initial configuration pages.
However a F9 whilst booting takes you to restore the factory settings(every other boot) goto restore factory settings--press "E"-- choose restore image--press "B"-- then try to reconfigure the first few pages of the initialising programs, date, time, location etc.

Gibberish + won't finish loading Windows

remove the new memory first. if that does not help you may have some a virus, indicated by safe mode workng fine. One other thing i found would do that is a damaged Hard drive, not to likely here because safe mode works.

Windows won't boot after an OS upgrade

The board is probably good but I've seen this many times when folks try to upgrade old computers. The drivers included with XP aren't working on your machine. It's not working with W2K because when you formatted the HD with XP it removed the IBM label from the HD. You should use your recovery disks to restore the drive.
