Please i can't remember my password to unlock my garmin gps nuvi 260. There must be a default or some basic code.

This GPS doesn't come pass code protected, that code is put in by the owner, so i must assume this is not your property.

Did you set a "home" point? If you did, drive to that point, and it should unlock. You can then change your password to something you remember. :-) If not, you can send it to Garmin, along with proof of purchase, and they will unlock it for you.

If you can't remember your password, take it back to your security location and it will unlock itself. You can then change the password to something you'll remember.

You cannot do nat, to prevent stolen garmins to be sold. Send it tro Garmin and the will help You!

Your safe location is where you entered the PIN number (probably your driveway). If it still won't unlock, send it to Garmin with your original receipt from an authorized Garmin dealer and they will reset it for you. There is no master unlock for the Garmin units, it must be reset by Garmin.

So unfortunately, there is only one option: You have to send your nüvi into the Garmin, who can unlock it. Remember original receipt.

Find out where your "friend" did the code. If you don't know what it is, then you have to go back to that exact location where they did it and it will automatically unlock it for you. Then you can follow the instructions below:

I think the true purpose of the pin is for another income stream to garmin they want $110 to unlock it. If not then why not just register a pin when you register for the warranty then just use your MY GARMIN to get it when you need it???
