Needs a sear adjustment. Take to a gunsmith. Leave this to the pros. They will adjust properly to manufacture's adjustment. If its beyond adjustment, maybe it's broke. If so, the gunsmith can communicate the issue to the factory if it's a warranty issue. If it's a warranty issue, maybe you can have sent to the manufacture and get the part repaired for free. You still may have to pay shipping costs. Good Luck!

Remington rifle 700 series ser#B6311286 prefiring while on safety

"pre-firing" makes no sense and by design the Rem. 700 cannot fire while ON safe, but it can fire as the safety is removed.
Call Remington. They know about the problem.

Safety fixes for the Remington Model 700

You didn't exactly say what is happening, not engaging, disengaging, not working??/ Trigger too light,? I had a 700 with a stubborn safety, would not klik on at all, also had an hk 770, same thing, I never bothered to fix it, I just never used it. It was always ready to fire, or empty was the way I left it, had to rack the action to use it.

Central pneumatic roofing nailer, where is the nailing ajustments?i should be able to hold the trigger and touch the nose to fire repeatedly but it wont let me.dont see a ajustment?

Not all nailers have the ability to bump-fire. It depends on the type of trigger and the firing valve that the trigger contacts. Remove gun from air supply and remove the nails (for safety). Take a close look at the trigger itself looking for a bump fire setting. It will have a rotary dial to select single or repeat fire. If no setting, look at how the safety foot contacts the trigger's inner trip lever (the trip lever inside the trigger is what actually contacts the firing valve pin). With trigger pressed in, push the safety foot in and notice if the safety contacts the inner trigger lever. On bump fire trigger, the safety foot mech. will push up on the inner lever each time that you press in safety (and you will see that the inner lever will depress the firing pin). On single fire trigger, with trigger pressed, when you push on safety foot, the mech. will not contact inner trigger lever because the lever is too short to allow safety to make contact with it. On single fire triggers, the inner lever can make contact with safety only when trigger is in the resting position. With trigger released, depress safety and notice that safety contacts inner trigger liver and will remain in contact untill you press the trigger at which time the inner lever will depress the firing pin then fall away from safety. If you are a tinker-er, you can make adjustment to inner lever so that it will make constant contact (the rotary dial on triggers that are made to give you a choice of bump or single actually make the inner lever longer or shorter ). If you make any adjustments, make various and numerous tests with-out nails to make sure that it will not fire accidently.

Bostitch RN46 will not fire nail, only releases air when trigger is held and firing tip is touched to surface of material. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Gun will not fire if air is leaking past orings in head /headvalve or safety /trigger is not pushing trigger pin all the way into trigger valve. Test: Remove trigger to expose trigger valve pin. Remove nails. Place nose of gun against thick rubber mat or coiled rubber hose to absorb blow of driver. Very quickly and deliberately press trigger pin all the way in. If gun fires, safety foo or trigger is not pushing trigger pin all the way in. Make adjustments or replace worn parts. If gun still does not fire, remove head and pull out headvalve. Apply lots of silicone paste lube on the orings and the surface of the head where orings make contact. Reinstall head and test as above. If the gun fires then orings were leaking. Replace orings and sand any scratches on body of cap with very fine sand paper. Parts are at www.toolpartsdirect.com Good luck

I took apart a remington model 550-1 auto 22 and a small pin fell out and I have no idea where it goes. It is about 3/4'' long, round and it has 1 end the same size as the firing pin and larger on the other...

Without seeing it, It's hard to tell, the closest I can come is the extractor plunger, or a part of the lifter.3 pins in there, your trigger plunger, and 2 pins on the safety.None are the shape you noted. Going by this drawing anyway. I didn't want to take my 550 apart to look for it, But I will if I have to. There is one more pin in the end of the tube magazine.

FIRES MULTIPLE NAILS WHEN AIR IS HOOKED UP.

Your trigger plunger is not seating to close off the air. Then your safety interlock is also not working properly. Needs a rebuild of all pertinant parts associated with the firing. There is a vlve in the the body that works in conjunction with the safety interlock and the trigger.
