Hi.

Reset the scale by removing and putting back in place the batteries.

After putting the batterieas back in the slot, perform procedure below:

Place the scale on a level surface.
Ensure that only the feet of the scale are in contact with the floor. The scale may not be in contact at any other point.
If an uneven floor (e.g. thick-pile carpet) contacts the base of the scale, push on the carpet feet supplied (see Fig. 5).

Have you attempted to just change the batteries out on this scale? It is a very high end scale here, and should last a good while. If you changed the batteries and it still is having problems then the actual scale is having issues. It may still be under warranty, and even if it's not it can be fixed. Just give SECA a call in the morning at 1 800 542 7322 if changing the batteries does not fix the issue.

You do not want to attempt a repair yourself, it is a very delicate scale, and can definitely be fixed, attempting to do it yourself could just cause it to be truly damaged beyond repair.

Thanks, let me know if you have any questions or concerns, just reply to my answer here and I will be right back with you.

For seca 763 having problem with the display. All led segment was displayed and weight is varying.Kindly help.

Try weighing an inanimate object, is the weight stable? Maybe you're stabalizing yourself by holding on to something? That will throw it off. all weight must be on the base and not moving to get an accurate reading. If it's still unstable it need new weight sensors and calibration. Probably not a DIY.

I have E10.11 code on Seca 869 scale what does it mean?

I have the same problem. I sent an email to the company and got no response, frustrating considering how much this scale costs for professional use. The manual says "Excessive weight has been applied in general or on one edge. Reduce load on scales or distribute weight more evenly. Restart scales."
I've done this, and it always starts with E10.11, making it unusable. If anyone has help or suggestions, please post.

Not sure if you knew this but you can change the batteries. I had the same problem and had forgotten to change the batteries. However, the weights may still fluctuate because you need to reprogram the settings. Unfortunately, i do not remember ever having an instruction manual...

Wrong weight

Finding replacement parts for store bought scales can be a fun experience to say the least. I would purchase a product from Seca or Health o Meter instead. Their parts and service centers are right here in the states and are genuine about their product accuracy and costomer service.

Balance beam wants to stick at about 300 lbs. not smooth moving

I contacted the manufacturer and here is there reply.

No need for oiling or grease, but tip the scale on its side, and look
under the base. There will be four "connection points" where pivot pins
connect to the linkage assembly; see if any of those pins or linkage
points are bent or look different from the other ones.

Then, note down the serial number of the scale located on the side of
the base, or behind the column of the scale at the top or bottom of the
column, and call our Maryland repair center at 800-542-7322 ext. 111 and
speak with Tyson Long from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Maryland time to describe
the issue and for further troubleshooting over the phone.

I have attached our new catalogue in PDF format as well. FYI: The model
703 is a very popular, extremely heavy-duty, high-capacity digital
column scale that is a popular alternative to the mechanical physician
scales in the gym and schools environment.

Pl2010m

This is the same problem I've seen several times. Fix the power supply board inside the display itself. It's giving the logic board and backlights fluctuating power and they just can't keep up.

There is a supplier of power boards online, you can google them with numbers from the board but I don't suggest using them. Look for information on the company also. I've seen a lot of complaints for this "international" company.

The fix for most of the problems on these monitors is about $8 on new capacitors (Plus shipping).

First check that you are getting a strong 12V from the external power adapter. If so, the problems may be as simple as changing out a few capacitors.

On the PL2010M monitors you need the following parts. I've added digikey part numbers to make life easier:

P10271-ND 220UF 25V Capacitor (3 or 4 depending on PS)
P10275-ND 470UF 25V Capacitor (1)
P10221-ND 470UF 10V Capacitor (4)

If you're not comfortable with soldering and de-soldering electronics, take it to a local technitian for the work and give them the parts list above. That should work to fix your issues. I've fixed several of these monitors so far. All the problems were related to the power supplies having bad capacitors. Same with the Planar PL1700 LCD monitors.

Good luck!
