Question about Alpine Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

Hi, I have an Alpine iDx-W407. When I play videos, the unit puts them in alphabetical oder, not the order that I have them on my iPod. How can I get the W407 to play like my iPod?

OvErLoDe, Thank you for your sugesstion. I had already done that, but I didn't want to have that many playlists. I guess that I could change the name of the songs by adding an alphebet in front of the videos to get them to play in a certain order.
    Again thank you.

This is completely normal for this head unit to put your songs and videos in alphabetical order. Unfortunately it is not something that can really be changed apart from creating your own play lists. If you created a play list you can then put individual video or song files into each play list but unfortunately they will still only be in alphabetical order. There does not seem to be any other option to view the files in any other order I am afraid.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

What you need to do is buy a PAC TR7 universal trigger module.Without this module you have to do some sequence of events with your brake and parking brake.and it wont let you program the unit. By default the TR7 is pre programmed for the video bypass. Even if you don't have any kind of video in your system you need this TR7 setup to program your IXA W407.

No audio from nve-m300 connected to alpine IXA-W407

I talked to Alpine today, and they said if I run the NVEM300 to the ixa407 with the audio processor like the pxah700, I have to buy a KCE900e and run it in between them, or else I will not get the voice guide.

I have an Alpine Media unit, (iXA-407BT) and i can not get my sony mp3 player to play on it. The manual says that it can play mp3s thru the usb connector. I have tried with no succes and no answer to...

The Alpine usb connector is for usb storage devices i.e. USB Pen Drives. The usb connector on your sony mp3 is to put music into your mp3 not to play them out of.

I have an Alpine head unit and a 30gb iPod Classic, it used to play through the stereo but now it just charges it, and on the head unit it says searching and won't find anything, I reset my iPod...

What model Alpine do you have? Have you gone into the setup menu and poke around and see if you have a setting (AUX +) and if you do turn it off and see. Than if that doesn't do the trick if you have an Alpine dealer close by see if you can "borrow" a KCA-422 full speed iPod cable and quickly plug that in and if it works than it is the cable. But if it still does not recognize the iPod it is a problem in the head unit and needs to be repaired..

Alpine cda 9884 has no sound in cd or ipod mode

actually, chrysler/dodge has factory Infinity sound systems installed. The nice part about these systems is that you dont have to bypass the amplifiers in order to put a new radio in, but simply power up the amp by hooking up the amp turn on wire at the harness. The alpine should have 2 blue wires coming off of the back, one that is solid, the other with a white stripe. The one that is solid only has 12v when the fm/am radio is on (used for power antenna) but cuts off when other sources are used (cd,aux, ipod). My guesses are, you have the amp wire on the vehicle harness (blue) tied into this wire, instead of the BLUE/WHITE wire on the alpine which has 12v as long as the radio is on. i hope this solves your problem, 9 times out of 10 on a chrysler this is it.

Jensen vw9312 wont play ipod video

This unit does not have iPod video capabilities only audio, If you want to view video from your iPod you can get a universal cable that would charge it and also give you a audio and video output, this cable needs to be powered and grounded and hooked up to one of the radio audio video inputs. This link will take you to it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPINE-JVC-PIONEER-SONY-Aux-Input-Cable-for-IPOD-VIDEO_W0QQitemZ370164615429QQcmdZViewItemQQptZOther_MP3_Player_Accessories?hash=item562f87c905&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:3|65:15|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:100

CDs and Ipod wont play with Alpine CDA-9885

The Alpine has two tigger wires when it turns on. One is an AMP TURN ON wire (blue/white) and a PWR ANT wire (blue) and that wire only comes on when using the radio or an optional HD radio unit ... When it was installed/connected . someone hooked your amp turn on wires for your "full range amps" to the PWR ANT wire. And the sub amp trigger is either hooked correctly to the AMP TURN ON WIRE or somewhere else, it probably shouldn't be... Check it. Amp triggers should all be to the blue/white wire from your alpine. Warning: Alpine trigger wires, are very easy to mess up they supply a very limited amount of power.

Alpine Ipod/Stereo Error 1 message

my alpine cda 9856 only displays that message when my ipod dies. so your ipod pobably dies then the head unit recharges it enough in the time your resetting it that it can play again. :)
