My dryer will turn on, when I push the start button the sensing indicator lights up, but the drum doesn't turn and no air flows. I had a tech come out and tell me it was the main control board. We...

Most dryers have a belt that goes around the drum attached to a spring pulley and the motor pulley, if the belt breaks. the drum will not spin. and most dryers also have a safety switch in between the door and the dryer, if this switch is bad, will not let the drum turn. most dryers have a vented slot in the rear of the machine at the bottom, if you remove this vent you should be able to see how the motor moves the drum. good luck!

The dryer flashes the minutes and then cL and it says to clean the filter. It is clean but it wont turn on

Hello,

It say to clean filter because it senses poor air flow so if filter clean the air flow is restricted, that could be caused by a restricted vent or espically in ge dryers the filter/blower housing is built up with lint and needs to be taken apart and cleaned

AF error will not go away after cleaning vent and lint filters

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Fixya.com.

AF is an error that will flash if a restricted air flow is sensed by the dryer control. If three consecutive cycles have low airflow the control will flash the AF error.

The AF error code can be cleared by pressing the Drying Temp pad for 5 seconds while in stand-by mode. AF will flash in the display for 1 second then "on" will appear in the display. If you press Drying Temp again and "of" will appear in the display indicating the AF error display has been turned off. Try this procedure and see if the "of" error goes away. If the "of" came up in the display by itself then the keypad may be stuck. However After cleaning the dryer's lint screen, ensure that the exterior exhaust hood connected to the dryer is unblocked, ensure that the vent connecting the dryer to the wall is clear and see that the vent is cleaned professionally.

Please get back to us if you have any further query.

Dryer goes on but does not heat up no flame

No flame indicates that this is a gas dryer?
If so, there has to be either a pilot light, or an ignitor. If it has a pilot light, make sure that it is lit. If it isn't, the gas will not flow. The sensing bulb above the pilot light must be hot before it will allow gas to flow.

Dryer stops after a few minutes Siemens WTXL2101 EU/07

Maybe a sensor at the back sensed overheating. You might be able to remove the backplate and search for a little button, which acts as some sort of reset button. (I do have a different tumble dryer, but it's the same brand and had similar problems). Maybe more ventilation is needed to prevent this from happening again.
