Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I have a Final Sound s-220 sub and a couple of days ago out of the blue, it began a whump, whump, whumping sound. It is constantand only stops when I shut the speaker off. The sound (whump) continues even if the speaker is not plugged into the amp. Any ideas? The fuse looks fine if that matters. Thanks for your help.

My Final Sound S220 subwoofer started making the same sound, until it warms up. Now it has a constant hum after the whump stops. No problems until recently and the plate amplifier has a lot of features, that I want to keep. It is a great suppliment to Magnepan, Spica TC50 or Reference 3A, to extend the bass range. Built-in line level high pass can be inserted between preamp and power amp. Any recommendations on how to get it repaired?

If your tv is putting out mono you will only get the center and sub speakers. This can be because the tv is only mono, or the output is set to mono in a menu of the tv. If you have cable or sat run the digital audio out to you receiver; it usually sound better that way anyhow. Set your receiver to Dolby mode for best sound.

Most of these problems are rooted in a failed power amp module.
I'm working on an older technics unit but with the same troubles.

SOURCE: Onkyo 805 sub hook up problem

I made the same mistake when i hooked my REL sub up to the back of the 805.

The problem is there are 2 connectors on the back of the amp that are labeled as sub out. Look very closely, you will see that there are 2 grouped RCA outs. The RCA out group you are looking for differentiated by groups of "little white dots" all the way to the far right on the back of the amp. Hope this helps.

Jenn Air JGR8750 - Oven heats _very_ slowly; take 45 to 60 minutes to heat to 450ºF. I can hear faint ''whump whump whump'' from the oven as it heats. Purchased in 1998.

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. This video will walk you thru the correct procedure for testing an oven igniter. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

The video final has died. This is a major failure that could have been caused by a bunch of causes - none of them pretty, starting with a fried power source and exploded capacitors. BTW the funny sound is coming from the speakers, the audio amplifier is receiving unstable power which appears over the normal sound - also a sign that the power source is severely damaged.
To check for the causes the tv must be opened and tested by someone with experience. If you don't have that experience don't try to fix it yourself, you can damage it even further and hurt yourself in the process.

Go to control panel, sounds and advanced, make sure desk top speakers is marked.
Also if they are not** computer speakers, your computer may not have the power to drive the speaker. Do you use a sound card or built in? get the drivers for then as well.
make sure you defragment your computer monthly.

sounds like the air gap between pulley and a/c clutch is too much now due to wear. when it quits open hood and take a piece of wood or something and push on a/c clutch if it engages and starts back working this is problem. be careful when doing this

you can adjust air gap by removing nut and sliding off clutch there will be a couple washers in there take one out . be sure it will still free wheel when a/c is not on.
