The steam comes out of the water reservoir cap instead of the steam Jet Nozzle.

I can only guess since I have never worked on one of these units, but I think you lost a gasket on the cap. Pressure must build in the reservoir before being forced out the nozzle.

Hi,
You'll need to put 500 ML water (1/2 liter) into steam buggy, Finding manual is difficult contact tristar for that.

Steam buggy water reservoir cap has apparently been cross threaded, and cannot be removed by twisting or other "encouragement." If I cut it off, where can I get a replacement? Can the machine be used as...

You need to completely annihilate the plastic cap by cutting it off and destroying the remaining plastic to expose the stainless steel insert/plug. You can use either a pipe wrench or 11mm wrench to turn the insert counter-clockwise to unscrew. You will need to use some force to get the plug out since it's basically glued shut by lime deposits in your tap water.

Do not move the slotted cap or else this will need to be adjusted so that all your water doesn't squirt out before turning to steam.

Next time only use distilled water. Store with the cap off. Grease the inner and outer threads after every use and wipe it off completely before use so it doesn't mix with the steam and turn to vapor.

Hello, no this is not normal. You just need a new O-ring. This is about a 1 dollar fix. The original O ring is clear rubber but a 3/4" standard O ring will work just fine. You can get these at Lowes or Home Depot.

Steam leaking from water reservoir cap

Replace the O ring. Cut the clear one out with a razor blade and buy a standard black 3/4" O ring from Lowes or Home Depot.

Steam leaking from screw cap. can i get a new one?

you dont need a new steam cap if steam is coming out of the top, that is supposed to happen when the hose is clogged, it would be very dangerous if that didnt happen, the amount of pressure that thing holds is unreal if you think your cap is leakin steam take a second look. if the cap is not physically damaged then it should be working fine, 9 times out of 10 your hose is clogged

How much water do I add to the steam buggy

I measured it for you, from my cup.
It's 18 Fl ozs or 500 ml (1/2 litre)
Anybody know where I can buy a spare nozzle.

How does it work?

Most units of this type make steam by heating water that is placed in a canister. Other than the place you attach the "hose", there should be only one other place on the body of the unit that opens up... that's most probably where the water goes in. Put water into a measuring cup, graduated cylinder, filling to known point. Then pour water into unit until 1/2" below fill hole. Note on measuring cup how much you used. This is the unit's capacity. Put "lid" or "cap" back on, plug unit into wall and wait a little while. Voila! Steam.

Steam escapes Steam Buggy

I've faithfully used by little yellow Steam Buggy to clean tight corners in my replacement windows and was always to get them looking new again and many other small places that needed blown out with steam when wiping or even scrubbing with a toothbrush doesn't work. I started to use it today and the steam started to come out around the black cap. After searching for a solution on the net I was very disappointed to find everyone else was having the same problem with no real solution. I had my hubby look at it and he said the gasket was worn and slip an o-ring on top of the gasket and now it back to working fine.

Just wanted to pass it along. A 10cent O ring will fix it.
