Question about LG KC910 Renoir Cell Phone

1 Answer

The screen has a big blotch on it, which looks like some kind of liquid and seems to ripple through when you touch it. I thought replacing the screen would fix this but it is exactly the same with the new screen! please help...

Thanks, I'll send the pics via seperate email shortly...

That makes sense, although I could not see anything on the front glass when I took the screen out it may be that once it is all out back together the digitiser and glass are pressed together tighter and if there is some liquid in there it spreads to be more easily seen. i'll see if this works, thanks so much for your help....i did not see a cable going to the glass front, this link shows all the steps I took to remove the screen thoughhttp://www.formymobile.co.uk/kc910disass...

    Roger that.

Looking at the pictures it looks like its on the Glass on top of the lcd display. Or possibly on the digitizer that is on the glass.

It seems like you replaced the LCD screen below / under the digitizer which is on the glass and has this blob.

So, instead of replacing the screen you should have replaced the front cover of the phone that contains the glass and digitizer, or have I misunderstood how the device is build, when you took it apart, was there a separate cable going to the glass front?

  • Ekse Nov 07, 2010

Okay, so the front glass must be pressing on the digitizer on top of the lcd, seems like the digitizer is on top of the lcd and not on the front glass of the phone.

The digitizer is plastic, so it looks like water or something is there.

Replacing the front might solve the problem, or maybe put in something that keeps the screen from touching the front glass.

Well, what I just said, if you put something in the middle the touchscreen is not going to work anymore.
