Thanks for the quick responce. I think I'd better set things straight...my TV is about 20 or so years old. Therefore it's not a flat screen. I tried everything you said to do and nothing worked. Any more suggestions???

There is a button on your remote that does exactly that - zooms in.

It should be called "ZOOM" or "FORMAT".

It has several possible combinations.

If you have universal remote chances are the button might not be available there.

In this case you will find it in the TV's menu, in the PICTURE settings. It will be called "ZOOM" or "PICTURE FORMAT" or just "FORMAT".

Available options can be different from manufacturer to manufacturer, but almost all will have "Normal" or "Standard", then 4:3, 16:9 etc.

Once you find it you should easily choose the "Normal" one.

There is a button on the remote that adjusts picture size. The button differs from brand to brand.

First before checking the button on the television remote please check the cable television remote. Look on it for a button hdzoom# format or aspect. You press that button to adjust picture size. Each time you press it it should give you a different option.

If your cable/satellite was attached to the television in two places the television might be on the wrong input. The television should be on the input for hd programming and not on the tuner input. For example when the television is turned on and you see the display info box it should not say 03 or 3.0.

Back to the button on the television remote it will say view mode, wide, format, aspect or something of that nature. Pressing it will give you different picture size choices.

Also if your cable box is set to the wrong resolution somehow this can happen. The cable box should be set to 1080i or 720p depending upon what your television can broadcast.

I have never heard of needing to pay any kind of fee to play games on the PS3. Is the fee needed to play the game offline or only to play online with others, because I've only heard of a fee to buy games off of the Playstation store, and that is a one-time payment

I have a big black square on the screen. My grandson had the remote and I think it has something to do with pip but I can't figure it out.

He turned on the Closed Caption Text Mode. Just go into your menu to the closed caption section and turn it back off. It might be under the audio section also.

I have a Samsung series 5 530 and the picture only recently is too big for the screen. also tried everything in the manual. Just started a few weeks ago.

The picture size may have been changed on the remote. Try the button that says pic size or something close to that. It must have been switched to a mode which zooms in the picture. That should fix it.

RCA TV lost Color

It sounds like your grandson found the "monochrome" setting in the menu on your remote. It may be in the "picture settings", "set-up" or "advanced" setting.

Remote does not open garage door

It sounds like the wall button has the lock feature engauged.

Is there a small green LED flashing inside the wall button?
Push and hold the lock button for about two seconds and the LED should stop flashing. This will unlock the garage door opener and your remotes should start working. You may have to reprogram your remotes and homelink again since you triedprograming in the lock mode.

Good luck.
