First (if it is 220 volt heating) check the breaker. some breakers for 220 V has two toggle switches.
one switch could be on and the machine would run, but no heat. reset both switches and try again.
It could be the heating element or a thermosat. and not very likely it could be the timer.
With a gas dryer. check thermostat, burner coils, heat senor, and ignitor.
hope it helps

Check to make sure that the thermal fuse is not blown. Small plastic piece with 2 wires coming off of it. Typically this is problem.

Some dryers have an auto off switch when the belt breaks. Check your belt and pulley in the bottom of the dryer

Dryer runs no heat

Sounds to me you either blew the fuse or tripped the circuit for the heating element. Try replacing the fuse or resetting the breaker before trying any repairs.

Hotpoint wd865 dryer stopped working

I always start at the plug to make sure it has 220, a dryer will run but no heat with 110. This was a common problem when everyone used fuses instead of breakers, just an old habit.

Then I check the heating element and thermostats, this must be done with an OHM meter. More than likely it will one of these.

initially check the element for continuity then check that any part of the wiring has not come off. if the water does not heat up it may not be advancing the timer to continue with the later stages of the wash, ie waiting for the stats to say the water is warm enough. tone.

Dryer not heating up

Hi Mally Try the following thread - http://www.fixya.com/problems-solutions/t103658,p117053/Bosch-Dryers.aspx It might also be relevant to your problem. Another pointer - - There might be a heat-sensitive fuse in the exhaust section of the dryer. The fuse is designed to turn off the heater element if the exhaust temperature gets too high. If this fuse is defective, it will keep the heater element from getting current. Good luck!
