Samsung Series 6 TV - cannot get TV to go through Home cinema speakes
I have bought the new Series 6 40" samsung with the Samsung HT-Z310R. I can get the home cinema to work when I play a DVD but on TV the sound is only coming from the TV speaker and not the HT speakers. When I go into the menu to select or change Sound, half of the menu's are not highlighted so I can't even change the setup. Can you help
Re: Samsung Series 6 TV - cannot get TV to go through...
Ok, the Audio can only be transfered to the HT if it is connected via something other than the HDMI, (the HDMI is just 1 way accept for the Anynet function (which is great with the 6 series. I have the LE52-A656))
The audio can be transfered via component cables but you will get the best out of your system using an optical cable. The main reason for optical is it ability to transfer 5.1. Only problem is the Samsung does not output 5.1!! bugger!! one you have connected it via the optical too. just set the HT to D-IN and you should be goo to go! :) There maybe something i have missed but Im at work at the mo but let me know how you get on :)

Hi I just bought HTSL75 speakers. Its manual saying its volume is controlled by TV's remote control But i am having Samsung UN46EH6000 LED. and Speakers is connected to LED via RCA and LED is giving fixed output, so all the time, speaker is working on full volume
Is there any workaround, so that i can control volume while using sharp HT-SL75 speakers with Samsung UN46EH6000 ?
Is there any volume control device to control the volume of the speakers in my case ?
I would recommence the BOSE Cinemate II. It is 599.90 has an optical in or an analog in, You would want to use HDMI from XBOX to tv, and from bluray player to tv using HDMI, Then optical cord running from TV to Cinemate.
The speakers that come with built into the units are very limited at best. Better than the old 4" speaker that came in TV sets from the old days, but not by much. Ask if you are not expecting more out of the output than is reasonable. I would offer that the true design intent is to hook the HDTV into a home surround system, a home system is optimized for and designed for your listening pleasure. I'm guessing that your HDTV is an LCD with a sound bar at the bottom, if so it is for general use and not intended for critical listening. I have a 61" Series 7 DLP and even with larger built in speakers, the difference is night and day between my surround sound system and the HDTV stand output.
When you say both cables, i presume you mean the HDMI. If so, yes, both need to be used. The HDMI is for the Video to the TV in full HD (which you will want because you tv supports full 1080P and the HT player upscales to 1080P) and also for the Anynet functions to and from the TV to the HT.
The Optical transfers only Audio to the HT from what evr device you have connected. In your case the TV.
Without going into to much detail. i use a switch so i can connect several devices to the HT giving me the best sound possible.
I received an e-mail from Samsung which reads
"What you have described in your e-mail was an issue that was logged and has been investigated we have released a firmware update to resolve the issue"
"In order for the firmware to be updated on the unit please call our product support team on 0870 726 7864 for assistance"
