Samsung Series 6 TV - cannot get TV to go through...
posted by wendy183 on Jun 15, 2008
I have bought the new Series 6 40" samsung with the Samsung HT-Z310R.
I can get the home cinema to work when I play a DVD but on TV the sound is only coming from the TV speaker and not the HT speakers.
When I go into the menu to select or change Sound, half of the menu's are not highlighted so I can't even change the setup.
Can you help

it is connected via HDMI.
We have no optical lead connecting the TV to the HT.

Is the HT z310 connected to the tv via HDMI? and do you have an optical lead connecting the TV to the HT?

Ok, the Audio can only be transfered to the HT if it is connected via something other than the HDMI, (the HDMI is just 1 way accept for the Anynet function (which is great with the 6 series. I have the LE52-A656))
The audio can be transfered via component cables but you will get the best out of your system using an optical cable. The main reason for optical is it ability to transfer 5.1. Only problem is the Samsung does not output 5.1!! bugger!! one you have connected it via the optical too. just set the HT to D-IN and you should be goo to go! :) There maybe something i have missed but Im at work at the mo but let me know how you get on :)
