Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Dryer repair I have a maytag performa dryer model no. pdet910ayw. I would like to know the best way to take it apart to get to the thermal fuse and thermostat without taking it completely apart. I thought you could get to it by "poppin' the hood" but could not see it. I would appreciate any help on this

My Maytag Performa won't run at all

I looked up your model. The blower wheel on these 31001317
causes the dryer to over heat. The fuse kit LA-1053 mounts here:e930c75.jpg

Model #pdet910ayw just quit the other day. will

You probably have blown your thermal fuse located on the blower housing. If you have a restriction in your airflow it will cause long dry times and also cause the dryer to overheat (which blows the thermal fuse at approx 197 deg). You could removed the front panel and the fuse is located on the top of the blower housing. It will be white and teardrop shaped. It can be tested for continuity. If the fuse is bad be sure to clear venting before running the dryer or the fuse will blow again. part number is probably 3390719.

Where is the thermal fuse located on the Performa dryer model PDET910AYW?

Hi. The fuse is mounted directly on the heater element, in between the heater duct, and duct exhaust.
