Have movies on my harddrive but whn I try to burn them they wont play in the DVD player

- It might be that your DVD does not have a compatible video codec

- you actually invest on video codec which converts any video file to .VOB

- There is a software that converts any video file format (example *.avi, *.mp4, *.mpg ) to .VOB

- This should be taken as personal use because we do have laws againts anti piracy (sorry, just a friendly advice)

I just burn a writeable cd from my desktop pc using windowa movie maker. I can play it back on my pc no problem but when I insert it into my dvd player it reads no supported files found.windows used high...

Computers use video files such as AVI, WMV, MPG etc.

DVD players use VOB video files, and will not recognise the computer video files.

Unfortunately, Windows Moive Maker cannot create VOB files - you will need another piece of software to convert the WMV file Windows Movie Maker creates to a VOB.

A lot of disc burning programs (e.g. Nero) include video converters. See if you've already got one on you computer.

If not, try Googling 'WMV to VOB'. There's quite a few free ones out there.

Hope this helps,

Matt

Vob ifo bup files to burn as dvd trouble

Try this:

Get the Nero 9 application
Install it on your computer
Create a Video Disk
And browse the folder of the VOB files Add it to burn the disk
Select Burn to burn the DVD ....

You may also try to put in a blank dvd and copy all the files on the DVD drive
Select burn these files on the disk
This should work

I can't download music from CDs. What do I do?

1. If the CD/DVD drive tray not open.

Open "My computer" windows and select the CD drive . "Right click" on the CD drive. You will get a pop up windows with the "Eject" option.

If it open that's means the power supply is ok

2. If the DVD drive is not showing on my computer windows or the DVD is not detect the CD/DVD disk.

To fix the problem we need to delete the "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" registry key for more details about the troubleshooting step please follow the below link.

No longer access the CD drive or the DVD drive

3. If the cd/dvd is detected and you want to know how to copy the file from cd/dvd to the computer.

-Open cd/dvd drive and select those file by mouse what you want to download from cd/dvd to the computer.
-Then right click on the highlighted icon and select copy option.

To play mpeg4 with philip dvp5960

I resisted this conclusion for years before I finally got smart and purchased Nero - it will convert your mpeg files to VOB format, at which point you can burn a DVD-video that the Philips player will recognize.

Now, there are other options. If the files are either MPEG-1 or MPEG-2, you can burn them as a Video CD, if the files are smaller than 800MB.

What you cannot do is burn the files as a Data DVD or Data CD - the player just isn't capable of recognizing data discs.

You can try downloading several free programs to convert the MPEG's to VOB format, but, in the end, you will probably just end up infesting your computer with malware/spyware/etc.

My professional opinion is to go ahead and purchase Nero or Roxio to do the job.
