Electric FDE/FDG647RF Drum Loose - Wobbles - Clothes hang at gap at bottom and tear. Can the drum be tightened?

The drum has three parts (depending on your dryer) all of which you can check. Under the drum to the front there are two felt pads that the drum rides on check to see if they are bad, although this more than likely will not make the drum loose. Next I would check your drive belt, if it is stretched the drum may be loose. There is also a bearing behind your drum, you may have to remove your drum to get to this and it is usually screwed in from the inside of your drum. If you can get the upper deck of your dryer off (for regular dryers if you remove two screws on the inside of the door the deck will tilt back on hinges) you should be able to view the top of your drum with the belt over it. Grab the back of the drum and try to move it left and right, if the bearings are bad enough there will be a lot of play in it.

I need a manual or somebody to tell me how to remove the back of my hotpoint dryer. Model DLL2650BGLWH. It sqeeks really bad and I was told it's prbably a shaft or bearing. Also, can I just try to...

Disconnect power to dryer.
Take screws out above door, allowing dryer top to swing up and back.
Remove screw near top from side panel into front panel, allowing front panel to be removed and set to the side.
Some models have a very small access panel at the very center of the drum on back, which may hide an " E " clip on the drum shaft, which would have to be removed, all other dryers no longer use them. Lift dryer drum up slightly and pull it forward a couple inches. (you do not need to remove the belt) Remove all the loose washers / sleaves on the back shaft of the drum and install a new WE3X75 rear drum bearing, then re-install drum. (no need to put the E clip back on.)
Check the drum slides on the bottom front side of the drum. Most times, if the rear bearing is in need of replacement, so are the front drum slides, especially the one on the left (blower / motor) side.
Just trying to lubricate it will not solve your problem.

GE electric dryer (model #: DRSR483ED2WW) sounds like grinding metal when dryer starts/runs

you need to replace the rear drum bearing by removing the front panel lower screws and then remove the top cover and lean back and secure so as not to break wires to control panel, then remove drum belt, lift out drum and replace with bearing kit

Cracked drum on the DLE3777W model

The drum is a part number 3045EL1002F which will set you back at least $135. Still well worth the repair, especially if you can install it yourself. You have to remove the top by removing 3 screws in back and sliding top back about 2 inches and lifting off. Then, remove front panel. Remove 4 screws holding the front bulkhead. Remove belt from drum. Remove drum. First time might take a hour, second one you do will take about 15 minutes.
Now, don't rate me down because you don't like having to repair your dryer. I didn't manufacture it. I'm just giving you a bunch of free advise.

No heat from the dryer

if your dryer has a lot od lint buildup inside it, some of that lint will fall onto the heating element in back on th wall and cause a hotspot. To examine your heating element you must gain access to it innards. Open the door to the dryer and remove the screws that are holding down the top first.Raise the top or yank the top out yer way depending on the model (no I didn't look up your model)Next remove the screws holding the front panel on and lift it out yer way. Take the idler loose from the bellt and get the drum out. You will then be able to see the heater. The problem will become almost immediately recognized as a broken heating element. Please keep in mind you can buy a restring kit instead of a complete heater pan and assembly already restrung. Just do not leave large gaps that would cause premature breakage in the coils of the new restring kit. Be sure to get all the junk out the back of the drum before reinstalling it. How difficult is this job? It will take a strong will, detirmination, parts and a 6 pack. Send me the 6 pack. LOL

Drier Belt Replacement on GE model DDG7580

Open the door and remove four screws which go into the dryer top. Swing top back. Take out the screw on each side holding the dryer front to the side panels near the open top. Tilt the dryer front forward and lift it off the bottom pegs, then swing it to the side. Leave door switch wires connected. Lift up slightly on drum to allow the belt to be placed around drum. (grooves of WE12X82 belt touch the drum) Belt goes down from the left side of the dryer directly to the grooved motor pulley, then around the belt tensioning pulley and back to the drum. Your model has a removable panel at the bottom side of the back which will allow easy access to the motor pulley area.
