I cleaned the crumb tray and shook out all the crumbs but now the lights just keep flashing and I can't make toast. Thanks for the info.

Waring pro toaster oven: the toaster part spring would not stay down. How to repair?

Most of the time this problem is caused by a build-up of toast crumbs in the latch mechanism. Unplug the toaster oven and follow the instruction manual directions for cleaning the toaster section. Try cycling the toaster lever up and down a few times, then clean out the crumb tray again. If that doesn't solve the problem, you'll have to look for an access to the latch mechanism to clean it out and perhaps gently straighten the latch hook if needed. Note: these are generic directions for all such toasters. I can't be more specific without knowing which model in the Waring Pro line you have.

How to Clean Your Toaster

Most Toasters Old and New have a trap door. Some have trays to catch the bread crumbs which can burn and even catch fire if not removed on a regular basis. Just open the trap door over a trash can and brush the crumbs away. Never put oils on the bread before toasting. This could cause a fire. Always unplug the toaster when finished. Not only will this help keep bills down but it can also make sure your toaster is not the cause of an electrical fire while unattended.

The roast selector si position 1 and my toast ar burning

If new, return because it is faulty. If not new try cleaning all the bread crumbs out, should be a bottom release hatch, or turn up side down and gen-telly shake crumbs out.

How to clean the inside of a toaster

Slide the bottom door under the toaster and it will open, I would suggest doing it over a waste can or sink. You can take a small thin brush and get the crumbs out. Then your toaster will be back in working order. Crumbs that are stuck in the bottom of the tray is what causes it to burn the toast.

Just purchased toaster oven model CE23551 and it did not have a crumb tray as advertised on the box and owner manual. Why is there no crumb tray ?

This model does NOT come with a crumb tray. In order to remove the crumbs from the bottom it must be shaken (like a toaster). I understand that this may be a little inconvenient; however, this machine is made relatively light weight for that purpose.

The digital control panel is on the fritz,

We ran into the same problem today with our toaster. There was never a problem before I cleaned it--not only by sliding out the crumb drawer, but by turning it upside down to dislodge every last crumb. After that, It would not stay down when pushed down--and none of the buttons were functional.

My husband took the cover off and found that a magnet is what keeps the lever down when the toaster's on, and allows it to go back up when the toasting is done. It's an electro magnet that works only when the toaster is on. It seems that when I turned the unit upside down and rightside up again, crumbs landed on the magnet's contact plates (which are about 1/4" x 1/2") and would not allow the magnet to engage. Because the magnet wouldn't engage, the lever would not stay down, and the toaster shut off. Brush off the magnets, replace the cover and toast away!
