Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I am trying to troubleshoot a Mackie SRM150 without a schematic. The problem appears to be in the mixer section. I can trace the signal to the input of this section, but have nothing at the input of the equalizer section. I noticed there are several op amps in this section and thinking maybe one of them may be defective. My next step is to attempt to draw my own schematic of this section so I can trace the signal. Do you think I am on the right track and is this a common problem area for this device? What other suggestions do you have? Thanks, Lyndell Scott

I contacted Mackie and they sent me the schematic but I had to essentially sign a "non disclosure agreement" in order to get it.

Call them, they are easy to work with.

I want to use theMackie as a sub mixer into a powered "all in one" Peavy mixer, where do I come out of the Mackie into one of my powered mixer line inputs?

Take the main outputs into a stereo input (or a pair of mono inputs) on the Peavey - without knowing which Peavey I cannot tell you further info re set-up but as you'll be sending line level signal you'll need to back off the gain on the channels you input to on the Peavey

No sound

This is not a powered mixer and so you must connect a power amp to the "line level" outputs of the mixer. Other "no output" problems could be related to buss assignments and other signal routing issues. Check for output by connecting "Main Out" left or right to a guitar amp input instead BUT turn all volumes down to zero before conductiong this test as guitar amps are designed for "Microphone" level inputs. you can just piggyback the mixers - take the outputs from the mackie mixer (assuming it is NOT a powered mixer) ... those should be line level outputs - send them into a line level input on the digi 002 and then set that channel on the digi 002 and once set, just leave it, and control the mackie channels individually ... should work fine ...
