My modem for the past few days has just been dropping connection out of nowhere. Almost every hour im having to reset my modem and its getting rediculous. Iv'e tried everything and can't seem to fixed the problem. Also there are 4 ethernet plug in ports on the back of my modem, and every now and then the ethernet cables will lose connection to the medem. The cables are fine and the modem is only about 2 monthes old. Any help??

Hello,

Contact the manufacturer of the router or contact your ISP and ask for a replacement.

Thanks,

Pat

You could try getting a replacement SIM with your phone provider. They usually do this for a small fee.

My router has been working fine for the past 5 months...Just recently, Every 3-4 hours it says that the internet connection is not available. I am still connected to the router, but without internet...

This is because your linksys router is dropping the connection with your ISP Modem...
It can be even an issue of modem...

To isolate the issue, what you can do is... You can connect your computer directly to the Modem and you can check for any intermittant connectivity...
if you dont have any problem with your modem, then definitely its gonna be the problem with your Linksys Router...

Doing a reset for the router and reconfiguring will resolve the issue in most of the cases...
If in case if it doesnt works, then you can do a firmware update for the router (that would be found in linksys router support website)...
Even then if it is dropping the connection then definitely it is a faulty router...You can ask for a replacement if the product is still under hardware & software warranty...

I have DSL through Qwest and can connect to the internet, but the modem will drop internet connection then come back on then drop again. I will unplug the modem and restart it; it will connect then drop...

check the configuration of the modem if you can. I do not know the exact model of the modem, could you post it? then with the exact model of the modem you could google it for a Manual, Handbook, or simply good configurations. If the configurations are good, then could be the firmware that is not updated, or in the last case ask Qwest to change your modem for one that works.
A piece of advice don't open it or modify it because you could void the warranty, in case of a change.

Hope this help you!!!

Problem for D-Link DIR-615 Wireless Router, Orange Power Light

I have had multiple problems with these routers. They tend to drop signals or have other issues that are hard to explain in a few short sentences.
After you rebooted did you open your browser and type in the IP address to connect to the router software?

can you be more specific?

Belkin 8231-4 N1 router lost connection to cable modem

It sounds like a problem with the cable provider or cable modem. I have found the local equipment can develope a problem and most customers in that small area think it is their problem and live with it. If you have not called the cable company then get them on the case. Good luck

My connection constantly fails... and then again, and again...

Try to change the channels on the router manager page
and see whether the signal strength increases or not
Make sure there are no electrical apllainces kept near to the router like micowave oven , music system speakers or any halogen lam which could create any kind of electrical interference with the router due to which the wireless signals are dropping out
