Accutek stand fan just hums, won't turn

Yellow oil substance is at the base of the fan motor...Should I just toss it?

The accutek stand fan AOJ 1601R model fan became slower and slower intil it stopped. I took the motor apart and cleaned out the dried grease and replaced it with white lithium grease. The fan spins nicely until I tighten the four long screws on the motor mechanism. Then it jams. Everything was put back as before with no missing washers or other items. How can I prevent this jammed condition so that the motor turns freely?

That means the bearings are dry and have locked. Simply open the motor cover by removing the screw and pull the oscillation knob by rocking it side by side gently to have free access to the motor.

MAKE SURE THE FAN IS UNPLUG FIRST. Use cream type grease on both ends of the shaft. After applying the grease rotate the blades until they're freely and you feel the blades have released.

Place the motor cover back and the oscillation knob and plug-in the fan. Leave it on HIGH for 10-minutes or more to make the rotor loose with the grease.

I have a A0X-1202 Accutek fan, it wouldn't start. It worked fine before but today it just won't start. Can it be fixed? What possibly could be the problem?

1st, remove the poer cord from your fan and determine if you have any breaks in the line by checking the voltage ( 120 volts) coming from the bare wires when it's plugged in. If nothing registers on your volt-multimeter, you can easily repair the cord or just replace it. Check to see if that works, and if not, ask me the next step.

My standing fan is humming and wont spin the way it should. It spins in the reverse direction at an extremely slowly, kinda like its dried(already oiled it up). When I try to manually give it a push start,...

Sounds like the shaft & bearings are gummed up. Clean them up with Liquid Wrench or WD - 40 (sparingly) spinning the shaft by hand to get it inside the bearings, front & rear. You should feel it loosening up. Then remove as much as you can with a cloth while spinning the shaft. Then relube with 3-in-1 oil. --- Oil alone will not cut thru the gum. Remember WD - 40 and Liquid Wrench are not lubricants!! You must use 3 -in-1oil or the likes.

Fan not spinning

clean your fan motor. remove carefully part by part(your fan motor, the coil and the rod). remove all the dirt. put machine oil at the rod, front and the back part. try to spin it. oil it and spin, do it again and again until the rod spin smoothly. and then put back those part as before you 'open' the fan. but remember, do not do this while your fan plug is still plugged to the power source. or you will be dead instantly. for your safety, you know. so be careful. last step, try it! :) i hope this will help you in fixing the fan.

Accutek AOJ 1601R fan wouldn't start

hi there,

it always can fix, there are several factror to check, you should have a multi tester to use to check the circuit.it might be on the switch,
cable or on the motor.
open the control box of the fan, there are set screw loosen this and you will see the connection of electrical connection of cable supply and the swicth.
set tester on rx1 check continuity of the cable plug supply, red rod of tester on plug take one wire, black test rod on the other end of cable plug.this other end of wire is on control box.see if pointer of tester move on to no.10 or 20ohms if move its good.try also on the other side of wire.if does not move replaced the wire.
if you can see a fuse check this,by tester
on rx1 attached red test rod on one end of fuse black rod on the other end,if move the pointer its good but if not, replace fuse, actually all fan motor have thermistor fuse inside the motor,it was mounted on the inner side of winding of
motor it look like a resistor or sometime a form of small square resistor has two terminals,to test this, red test rod on one terminal and black test rod on the other terminal if pointer of tester does not move replace thermistor.
to get the termistor fuse you should open
the motor, this is not easy job.but small pc. of motor will give you knowledge how to fix your small appliances.,on motor there are four lock in bolt, before you can pull out the motor disconnect the wiring from the switch cut this
by cutter plier leave a small color lead of wire
when you cut, allow you to remember the connection when putting back.when you dismantle the motor, loosen the four lock in bolt and pull out the winding on motor case
on winding cut the plastic strip, find the thermistor fuse, this was insulated, careful to cut small wire this are all terminal of motor
replace the thermistor if busted.
put back and try to run your fan again.
unplug your fan before doing this this should be done by technician, have anice day rate my fix thanks a lot.

An electric motor shop may be able to rebuild the motor for you, or you may be able to find a motor with the same ratings. Chances are this would be pricier than a new fan though.
