Singer futura quartet embroidery machine's bobbin area is tangling up the top thread. the top thread never breaks it just clogs up in the bobbin compartment can you help?

Be sure that when you thread the top thread, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot. This allows the thread to seat firmly in the tension disk. Sounds like what you are experiencing is called bird nesting or thread nesting.

Basic Tips for All

  1. Always turn the handwheel TOWARDS you (counter clockwise) as turning it in the opposite direction (away from you, clockwise) may knock the timing out requiring repair from a service center.
  2. Always be sure your presser foot is in the DOWN position before sewing. Sewing with the presser foot in the up position will cause your thread to tangle and your bobbin to jam.
  3. Change needles regularly (after 16 hours of use) as dull/weak needles can cause damage to your machine and fabric. Only use SINGER needles on your SINGER sewing machine.
  4. Always be sure you are using the correct bobbin for your machine. Class 66, Class 15 and Class 15J bobbins look very similar. However, using the incorrect bobbin class in your machine can cause damage.

My singer sesq embroidery machine keeps saying it's locked up it embroiders a few stitches. . I have gone through the start up process several times, changed the needle and bobbin and no luck

I'm assuming that you have a Futura embroidery machine. It sounds to me as if your thread is either not between your upper tension disks, or it's on the rim. This is caused by threading while the presser foot is down.

ALL sewing machines MUST be threaded with the presser foot UP. This is because that is the only time that the tension disks are spread to accept the thread. The machine has a "thread out" sensor, and it's triggered when the thread is not between those disks, making it beep and stopping the machine.

Consult your user's manual, and in the maintenance section in the back it will show you how to remove the cover over the needle shaft for maintenance. To identify the tension disks, just raise and lower the presser foot a few times--it is the only thing that will move, whether the machine is on or off.

When I do embroidery on om singer future the top tension is to loos it make some loops please help?

Remove the upper thread. Then RAISE the presser foot and re-thread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct. Set the upper tension to the midway point and retest your machine. You may need to tweak the upper tension. For garment or regular sewing, the tension is correct when both threads meet in the middle of the fabric, however embroidery sometimes requires the upper thread to be a bit looser so the bobbin thread will not appear on the top of the fabric.

Why does it sew a couple of stitches and quit?

Sounds like you're getting a false "thread break" error. That's caused because the thread is either not in the tension disk at all, or the thread is not seated deeply enough between the disks and triggers the thread out sensor.

You MUST thread your machine with the presser foot UP. That is the only time the tension disks are spread to accept the thread. If you are doing that and getting the error, take the cover off (page 81 in your user's manual--it's designed to be removed for cleaning), and using UNWAXED ONLY dental floss or hand embroidery floss, gently floss between your tension disks to see if there are thread ends or lint preventing the thread from seating. To locate the tension disks, raise and lower your foot, and you'll see it move.

I have singer 2259. i dont know how the machine automatically threads the needle. I also want to know can i do embroidery with this machine, if so, how?

You do not have an embroidery machine, or an automatic threader. This is a basic sewing machine, you can free style embroider by covering the feed dogs and, using an embroidery hoop plus the darning foot but you don't have an embroidery attachment per se. Read your manual, if you do not have one go to www.singerco.com and download a free copy under customer support and save it to your computer. Embroidery machines usually start at $600 and up. $600 is a very basic one. If, you want one take that machine back and buy one from a place that gives lessons on it, (check out JoAnn's and private shops). You will enjoy it more if you know what all of the features are.

I have a Singer Futura 350. I keep getting an error code of "88" which says the machine isn't threaded properly. I've had & used this for nearly 2 years without issue. I've re-threaded many times and...

It ended up being an airhead mistake... my embroidery foot had loosened and became crooked, causing the machine to think that the thread was hung up because the foot couldn't go down properly. Very happy that it wasn't an expensive fix. In fact, it didn't cost me a thing! Yea!!!

i spoke with support and they tell me that this is a threading issue. pull the thread back and forth, like flossing, under the plastic plate on top so the thread clicks into place. then procede with threading.

Needle breaking-CE 250

I had that same problem and it was due to the thread being too tight. Put the thread net on your thread and it should be ok.
