Question about Apple MacBook 13"White /2.0Ghz Intel Core2 Duo White/2GB (2x1gb)/80GB/SuperDrive (Z0DT) Mac Notebook
I have a macbook, and I really need to get easy wireless storage. I have looked at the 'Time Capsule' on apple.com, but I was just wondering if there was a cheeper alternative.
Yes there is a cheaper alternative.
The Airport Extreme router comes with a USB port that supports external storage devices. Instead of using the TC's built in HDD. You can simply purchase the AE and plug an external USB drive.
The advantage of the TC is just how neat and convenient everything is. Do note though that users have reported the TC wifi connection being markedly slower than the AE. I've had the experience myself. TC was a huge let down.

I don't think there is another wireless option? You will probably have to buy an external hard drive and use your USB port. That will be your cheapest option.
