We own the Briggs and Stratton 7500 Watt Emegency Power Transfer Switch (part number 695083 and want to know why there are two 20 amp breakers linked together?

Kenmore canister - trips 15 amp circuit breaker


Check specs on unit and amperage. If it is less than 15 then the upstairs breaker is kicking off prematurely - Not uncommon event. If unit is drawing more power than specs there is excessive friction in motor bearings. Also check out brushes for good contact since they wear.

My series 90L suddenly stopped and would not restart. A check of the circuit breaker found it tripped. The vac would not turn on when the circuit breaker reset. Using an AC voltage sensor indicated power...


From the description it sounds as if there had to be a short in the unit somewhere. This is what would have tripped the breaker. the fact that it is not tripping could mean that there is a fusible link or that the wires or whatever have burned back from the short, and are no longer shorting out.

Dont burn your house down just to get your vacuum to work circuit breakers protect the wire in your house 14gauge wire needs15 amp breaker 12 gauge wire need 20 amp breaker

take it to a friends house and plug it in if it does the same thing then the problem is in the vacuum cleaner.check your cord and see if there are anny cuts in it.you can open the breaker box then plug in the vacuum and watch the breaker box.you might see a spark and narrow down the problem.

It keeps tripping the breakers or the GFI outlet.


try different outlets in another room to see if that dosent help you may have a shortin the cleaner but i think you may be overloading the breaker

Need switch for a shop vac modle qpl650


Ok - heres my story - QPL650 crapped out mid job, checked this post, ordered the switch on the link here, didn't work.

Called Shop Vac, priced a power unit assembley ($82), took the motor apart and traced the orange wires into small junction box, replaced the little rod connecting the contacts with a 1/2" of coat hanger (white paint scaped off first) and I am back in business.

Now I am thinking $82 invested in an index fund at 6% per annum for 20 years is...................

4.3 amp Kenmore canister vacuum power switch has failed


You did not give the complete model number, but you can go to sears.com, click on parts and put in you model number. You will get links to click on, click on the cannister one and you get a picture breakdown and a parts list, you can also order after choosing the part you need.
