This is a Microsoft Outlook Express PRINTING problem I have outlook express 6 for my email program. I have a PC with Windows XP. My wife and I have individual email accounts. Recently I can not print the body of any e-mail message. My wife, however, can print hers. Is there any easy fix for this?

I read the article, thanks...I tried all, especially the rich text idea, but it did not work.

I do not get any error. When I try to print, the message seems to get to the printer, it starts and prints just the header info (i.e., "From", "To" "Subject", etc.), but not the body of the message.

    Any clues? Thanks

Hi Thanks for the ideas, but no luck. I called a tech locally and he, after hours, installed outlook, which seems to work. Thanks anyway.

Hi. Do you have both have different windows profile. Sounds like your window profile has a printing issue. Try to create a new profile and try to do test print using outlook express.

Hey,

Simple thing to test, Select all the text that you want to print, then click File, Print, and make sure its on "Selection" so it prints what you selected. Also make sure the correct printer is selected.

See if it prints out.

Please repost the problem - ask another expert - work with another expert. I feel that I can not solve this problem with you only using text, Id have to take a look at it myself but I don't do that for 2$

For creation of backup I used this tool, try:
Outlook Express is one of the most popular mail clients at the moment. Its popularity is attributed to the fact that it is included in the distribution package of all Windows operating systems starting from version 95 OSR2. It is absent from Windows Vista and later in Windows 7 where another mail client is used - Microsoft Mail. So, users quite often encounter the problem of backing up information from Outlook Express. You can solve it with Outlook Express Backup Toolbox.

How to instal outlook express?

Outlook express only comes with windows xp and earlyer windows versions.
However in windows vista microsoft did replace outlook express with windows mail and
in windows 7 they left it completely out of the package.
In windows 7 you'll have to install windows mail from the windows live essentials package, wich is free to download.
Outlook express can't be installed on windows vista and 7, use windows mail instead.

Download Windows Live Essentials here: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials?os=other

How to download outlook express to send mails

You can't really download Outlook Express as it is part of Windows XP.
If it is not there, you can add it though the Add/Remove Programs option in the Control Panel. Select the Windows Components icon in the left-hand pane.

In Vista Outlook Express is replaced by Windows Mail, and in Windows 7 there is no email program, but you can download Windows Live Mail.

I have windows mail and would like outlook express. Is there somewhere I can download it for free or do I have to buy a program?

If you have Windows Mail, you no doubt are running Windows Vista. Sorry, but Outlook Express is not supported in Vista. You are stuck with Windows Mail or a third-party mail client. FYI, I use Thunderbird and am quite satisfied. It works with Windows XP through Windows 7

File with extension *.dbx

DBX files (files with *.dbx extension) are the files where Outlook Express stores email messages. They can be found in so-called Outlook Express Store Folder named"Inbox.dbx," "Sent Items.dbx," etc. To determine Store Folder locationclick Store Folder button at Tools>Options>Maintenance in OutlookExpress. DBX files may be copied to another folder in order to backup e-mail messages.

How to open and edit DBX files
To open Outlook Express dbx files you just should select a file anddouble-click on it. The software will be open a .dbx file, scan dbxfile and visualize e-mails.
How to extract emails from DBX files
It is almost impossible to extract DBX files manually. However, there are tons of DBX extracting software over the Internet, such as DBX to EML.

Open DBX file on Windows

Where is outlook express in ie7? so i can setup my mail settings.

Outlook express is not actually in internet explorer, it is it's own program. If you click on start and click on email at the top usually outlook express is the default that will open up.

Otherwise you can find it by clicking start, going to programs and locating it. Or you can click start, go to search, and type in outlook and it will find it for you =).

Out Look Express

Outlook and Outlook Express are not the same program, and they are not actually even close to using the same programming.

You cannot import Outlook files into Outlook Express. You can import both into Outlook.

Select File->Import and Export, and then choose "Import from another program or file" then choose either PST file for Outlook or Outlook Express. Select the defaults from then on and browse to where you saved the emails. If you saved the emails correctly it should import them.
