Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

My xbox gets the red ring of death (error code 1022) whenever I plug in my AV cable. Without the cable it's fine. I've tried other cables, but none have worked. What do I do?

If you don't plug in the A/V cable you should get 4 red lights.
if you plug in your A/V cable you then get 3 reds error code 1022?
and have you tryed to repair it yourself?

There are many ways to get your console
working . However the most durable repair
would simply have a shop reflow the
G.P.U. and then do what's called a hardware up grade. with regards to the
x clamp . Just google "Conformal Compression Assembly" this should resolve most problem and get 9+ months
of trouble free operation.

If you have any questions please feel
free to ask.

I CAN FIX IT! There are links that show you how to repair this issue yourself (but they are not very clear and every thing is very fragile inside the XBOX 360) or you can contact me via reply on here and we can discuss the issue further as I recently repaired my XBOX 360 with the same issues and it works better than when was brand new.

First lets clear up the statements made by mycharmingli .

1 # it's not fragile provided you don't attempt to use a heat gun
to fix your console or replace the "x clamp with screws and
washers and then force the G.P.U. to over heat .

2# better then brand new is inaccurate . After his " repair"
chance are it's working but for how long? and always check
    their ratings out first.

3# your not suppose to advertise on FIXYA so this is a violations
of user agreement. This is a help /repair tips site no a venue
    for advertisement.

#1 yes the components are fragile in an delicate electronic if you have no experience in repairing them. I did not use a heat gun/hair dryer or any source of heat in repairing or forcing overheating in repairing my XBOX nor did I use screws or washers. I removed the xclamp which causes the board to flex when it gets hot and it causes the heat fault in the console. Which when the board overheats is can become warped and damaged and require replacement due to the extremity of the overheating. #2 Mine working better than when brand new is not an inaccurate statement it is simple fact. Your opinion as to how well my console works is just that an opinion, you haven't seen it's performance new, during or after 3 ring repair therefore are not qualified to determine it's performance. #3 "So maybe I should have said I can help walk you through repair through chat on here" (not everyone's wording is perfect) or we can speak further on here is an offer to help walk someone through the repair steps as the repair steps on youtube and many many other sites are misleading, confusing and offer some very false repair advice. . Could you please simply gives us those links you found on how
to repair our 360's and maybe explain a little how you repaired
yours witch now "relatively speaking" performs better than new.
Also if you have to replace the warped and damaged board caused
by the heat don't you also have to replace the drive ? Could you please specify
what and or where the fragile parts are , simply handling of the main board
shouldn't cause damage right? SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE to help others.
and learn from others doing the same. That's what fixya is all about right?

    Thanks

http://www.zimbio.com/Xbox 360/articles/332/One Light Two Lights Three Lights More. This is the best link that I found as it goes in-depth as to what the different lights means and how to repair the issues. The xclamp is a faulty part in the console, it a flaw in the design (in my opinion). The repair kit costs 30.00 and it included everything needed to repair your xbox rrod issue including extra heat-syncs, artic silver paste (which does not dry out as the MS repair paste does). MY xbox from the beginning was slow, jumpy, stalled and ran extremely hot, since repair and addition of extra heat syncs it works perfectly. If your motherboard becomes warped or damaged from the heat it would have to be replaced to function correctly, I cant see the drive needing to be replaced due to Motherboard being warped. There are drive issues but that is a totally separate issue from the rrod. As for fragile parts in any micro-processor there are hundreds of thousands of tiny parts that can become scratched or damaged with out handling the item in question with great care thereby destroying a variety of functionality of the processor. All I was saying it the motherboard is delicate handle it with care and consideration as to not damage it. If you would like the links where I ordered my repair kit and extra heat syncs which contained the step by step repair instructions with all the right tools and components for repair I will have to look it up on my hard drive but will be more than happy to provide those links to you so you or someone else needing the repair kits can purchase and repair. I did not jump blindly into the first link I found for repair I did extensive research to find the correct repair kit and instructions, If there is anything else you need from me just let me know.... Oh, I forgot there can be nothing on top of pr around the xbox blocking air flow if there is it can cause a over heating problem and I have discovered it is best to have it standing upright instead of lying on it's side.
