Microsoft Mouse Wireless Model 1023/1024 won't work

My Microsoft mouse 1023/1024 has developed this problem with the usb part (1024). If I continuously reposition it sometimes the green light will come on and stay on and it works otherwise it is dead no light. If I move the usb part it will stop working. The mouse itself lights up red. I push the connect button. Nothing no green light on the usb part.

i also have the same problem! i think it started after the usb stick started to feel a little wiggly in the slot -- nothing too major, just a little loose. then the mouse would stop receiving signal, and i'd have to jiggle the usb stick to make it work. now even that's not working. when i plug the usb stick in, the green light blinks once and then goes dead. nothing works.

I have the same problem - I figure it just got jostled by my kids and is physically bent at the connection points (just a bit). At this point I cannot adjust it to work at all and was just going to buy a new one. Did you ever get any good ideas from your post? I did clean it with compressed air- did'nt help.

Try using an eraser on the contacts if you can reach them. Sounds like dirt/corrosion build-up.

When you replace the Battery on a Wireless Mouse you have to link the Mouse again with your USB receiver. There should be a Button on the bottom of the Mouse that could be marked, Reset, or Link or something similar. Just turn on your Mouse and hold this Button for a few second until the USB receiver finds the signal.

The keyboard is also paired with a wireless mouse. They both use the same USB wireless receiver. If the wireless mouse you are using is not from the set then no, you can not use the same receiver for both.

Replaced Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 doesn't work

I would have suggested opening up your old mouse and cleaning the right click button first.

Generally, wireless devices have a connect button that finds the frequencies of the devices. On the receiver press this button, then press the button on the bottom of your new mouse. the receivers lights will stop flashing once connected.

Set up of a Microsoft wireless keyboard & mouse

The devices probably came with a USB cable and a receiver, or just a USB equiped receiver, that you need to plug into your computer. Go ahead and plug the cable and receiver into the computer so that your wireless mouse and keyboard has a means to communicate with the computer. Next, Here is a website address where you can download drivers for your mouse and keyboard. You must first choose either mouse or keyboard, then the exact product and model, then the operating system, and finally the language. repeat the process for the other device (mouse or keyboard, whichever you did not choose first). Good Luck! And let me know if there are any further problems.

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse Not Connecting

After reading on Microsoft about replacing the batteries, down loading drivers and "press the button on the receiver and the connect button the receiver" - I got frustrated and almost gave it flight. Then my wife stepped in and realized that there was a green reset button on the USB connector as well. (who knew?) SO.... you press the green light (which is a button) and release it.... should blink. Then go to THE MOUSE portion and press the connect button for 5 seconds or so.... and wala...... One mouse that plays again! This ones gonna cost me! :) I hope this one works for ya!
