Need manual for Travel Companion Model S1500 Alarm Clock

Travel alarm clocks can have varying instructions, depending on the type of clock you are using. Here are some tips for use that will apply to any alarm clock.

  1. Power source
    • Travel alarm clocks will need to have some sort of power source. Depending on the type of alarm clock, it might be battery-powered or it might have a cord that needs to be plugged in. Battery-powered alarm clocks can take mini watch batteries, AAA batteries or sometimes AA batteries. Travel alarm clocks, because of their tiny size, usually have the small batteries that need to be bought from a watch store or a dollar store. Before you leave, make sure you have a working power source and can turn it on.
    Changing the time
    • After you reach your final destination, power the alarm clock on. Now you'll need to set the time and date correctly. Check a watch, cell phone or television to get the exact time and locate the buttons or dials on your alarm clock. On some, there will be a "time" or an "hour" button you need to press and hold to activate the alarm time change. While you are holding it down, turn the dial, press the hour button or press the (+) button until you notice a time change. On others, simply pressing the hour or minute button will let you change the time shown.
    Setting AM/PM
    • The AM/PM option is critical in setting your alarm clock correctly. Make sure the LCD display on your clock has a light beside the correct AM or PM setting, or look for the letters AM or PM on the display. If you get this wrong, the alarm won't go off in the morning!
    Setting alarm time
    • To set the alarm time, look for a button or a switch that says alarm. If there is a switch, move it to the alarm setting. If it is a button, you'll need to hold it down until the time starts flashing, signaling time to change the hours and minutes to the desired alarm time, or hold it down while you press the hours and minutes buttons to reach the alarm time you want.
    Turn alarm on
    • Now double-check that your regular and alarm times are correct by switching the switch back and forth again, or by pressing the alarm/time buttons long enough to read the time set. There should be a picture of a bell somewhere on your LCD display showing that the alarm is set to "on." If there isn't, look for the on/off alarm button and move it to the correct position.
    Music options
    • The last step is finding the alarm wake-up option. Not all travel alarm clocks have this option, but if yours does there will be a switch or button that lets you choose to wake up by a buzzer, the radio, a CD, or another device.

My Seth Thomas radio controlled clock will not reset to the proper time. I've had it for many years, and this is the 1st problem. I changed the battery, I pushed the button for Pacific time ( I'm...

Hi lufberg,

I see you need help with your radio controlled clock.

Place your Seth Thomas atomic clock face-down on a table or desk and locate a series of buttons labeled "PST," "MST," "CST" and "EST" on the back of the clock. Press the appropriate button to set the time zone.

Turn your attention to the small lithium battery-powered digital clock display on the back of your clock. With the correct time zone set, the digital display should accurately reflect the current local time.

Locate the AA battery compartment on the back of your clock. Put two new AA batteries into your clock's battery compartment.

Set the "Mode" switch on the back of your Seth Thomas atomic clock to "Run." Wait for it to adjust to the correct time. The automatic time-adjustment process can take up to 45 minutes, but is usually completed much sooner.

I have just purchased a second hand AWA CRD176X CD Clock radio that did not come with a manual and I am having trouble setting the time, alarm time etc. Can you please help out at all. Thanks in...

Hi Chris, is this the one?

faxmando_3.jpg

Like most of this type, it should have a button named TIME, and another one named ALARM.
Then there should be one button named HOUR, and another one named MINUTE.

With the radio turned off, press and hold the TIME button, then tap the HOUR button until you reach the current hour, AM or PM.
Release the TIME button.

Press and hold the TIME button again, and tap the MINUTE button until you see the correct minutes.
Release the TIME button.

Now repeat the same operation with the ALARM button, to set the time the buzzer or music should come on.

If you have any further questions please email me.
Subject: AWA CRD176X CD Clock radio
[email protected]

I can't make out the names of the buttons or functions from my image, so if you need any extra information, please send me a clear image of the top and front of the radio.

Thanks!

Jerry

HELLO MY CLOCK DID NOT DO AUTO DAYLIGHT TIME HOW DO I FIX THE TIME TO ADJUST TO ONE HOUR A HEAD THANK YOU INGER WELCH

All you need to do to advance your clock an hour for daylight savings time, is hold down your clock button without letting it go. Then press your hour button once and you should be all set.
Most clocks that are older than when they changed the date of daylight savings time will either not change it for you on the right day anymore. Or they don't have that feature in it.
If yours does have an automatic daylight savings feature...you may find it helpful to take it off "automatic" and just change it manually from now on. That's what I do with my VCR. It has an automatic daylight savings time feature, but it's useless now that they have changed the date when we set our clocks for DST.
Some manufacturers will give you instructions on how to change the feature settings so your product will again work correctly for you. But not all will or can. You can look it up at your manufacturers website to know for sure.
Good Luck...and I hope this helps you.

I have an older model rca cd clock radio dual alarms. I cannot find my instructions for setting the clocks time. The batteries were dead when the electricity went off. Now the time keeps flashing the time.

For most clocks of the RCA clocks without a clock or time set button, press Set until you see the clock icon. Press the fwd or rev button to change the time. Release the button when you reach the correct time. (AM or PM will be indicated next to the time.)

There are manuals for several RCA cd clock radios available from their site: http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/select.aspx?u=manual . Check if your specific model is listed in the menus.

I hope this helps.

I am having problems setting the alarms on my Emerson Smart Set clock

Directions for Resetting the Daylight Savings Time (DST) Start & End Dates on the Emerson Research Smartset Dual Alarm Clock Radio (cks5055s):

  • This should work for all Smartsets, but I cannot make the guarantee (and no, I don't have any other directions, sorry)!
  • Adjusting the DST Start Date on an Emerson Research Smartset:
    1. Depress & hold the MONTH/DATE and the ALARM1 buttons (at the same time). After 3 seconds the display will show the DST 'start' month, week, and date. It should be alternately showing "4 F" (April and first week week) and "4. 1".
    2. While still holding the MONT/DATE and the ALARM1 buttons, press the DOWN (or "-") button 3 times, until the display is showing "3" (March) and the week as "F2". It should alternately flash "3 F2" and "3. 11".
    3. After this is set, the clock should "automatically" reset itself
  • Adjusting the DST End Date on an Emerson Research Smartset:
    1. Depress & hold the MONTH/DATE and the ALARM2 buttons (at the same time). After 3 seconds the display will show the DST 'end' month, week, and date. It should be alternately showing "10 L" (October and last week week) and "10. 28".
    2. While still holding the MONT/DATE and the ALARM1 buttons, press the UP (or "+") button 1 time, until the display is showing "11" (November) and the week as "F". It should alternately flash "11 F" and "11. 4".
    3. After this is set, the clock should "automatically" reset itself

One thing to note, if you ever have to change the lithium backup battery for the Smartset clocks, it will revert back to it's factory defaults and you'll have to go through his all over again.

And this conclude's Search Marketing Guru's public service announcement. :) We'll be back with relevant online marketing posts with our next posting!

Had exactly the same problem. Moved the clock to another room where I guess the signal was stronger and it started to set the correct time in about 2 minutes. Voila!!
