your model is pretty new. just so you know your warrenty is 1 year parts and labor. 2 years on parts. it should not cost that much money.
there are two components that start before the circulation pump.(wash noise you hear)
first sounds you hear will be the drain pump. usually rattling noises if something is in it but it can make a hum noise if something is jamming the drain propeller up. which is accessible with a T20 torx driver. take the filters out and the mesh filter. and unscrew the screw in the base towards the left. pull out whatever is lodged.
the other humming sound can come from the next component that activates is the watervalve. make sure you dont have a kinked water intake line. otherwise its a bad valve. i have had to change a few of those water valves out already but not for a hum noise on your model. you have a new style water valve. when brands make new parts we get problems fast sometimes..

Don't hold me to this but I believe to reset during a cycle you press simultaneously the two buttons with a dot under them (2nd in from the left and 2nd in from the right) 0.01 or 0.00 comes on the screen and the pump will run. To run a test cycle turn machine of, press and hold the same two buttons and turn machine on whilst holding them in, the machine code should show in the display (usually a number in it's 20's), release these two button and then immediately press them again, this should initiate the test cycle. The d/w should now run thru a test cycle. If no fault is detected the display will show 0 or 1. If anything else, please repost and I will try to let you know what the fault code represents. test sequence is usually is as follows.
Pump, fill, circulation motor, dispenser (listen for it to open), heat to 65 degrees, regeneration flush, intermittent pump, sensor recalibration (if the d/w has any), alternate fill/pump, pump, finish. Take approx 10-15mins to complete.
Hope this helps, pls feedback or reply if unknown code appears.
