Try a program called Media Widget (do a Google search). It is FREE and we use it all of the time.

Found Ipod nano 2GB on the floor and Can't upload any new music!

1. use iTUNES to update firmware. (plug in ipod, THEN start itunes, that way itunes should connect)

2. if that doesn't work, you'll have to have it jailbreaked. That'll cost you under $20 if you find the right person. Craigslist will help ya find that person. Don't spend more than 20 bucks to jailbreak any iphone or ipod. That's just a scam there.

Ipod music is gone, but still says it has stuff on it

If you do this through itunes, it should be okay. The trouble is everytime you want to update your ipod, you will need to connect it with itunes and itunes will need to have your existing library that you created for you ipod to perform a quick and troublefree update.

If you are going to get an external harddrive you will need to re-direct where itunes is saving your music and video files. Because itunes will be using your internal harddrive for the system files (that is where windows is), it will automatically save the music to your internal drive. I suggest reloding an updated version of itunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ here and when asked where to install it, redirect it from C:programfiles.......to your external harddrive. This way the itunes music folder will be on your external harddrive.

Hope this helps

External hard drive and ipod

It really doesnt matter, you will just have to have the hard drive plugged in when you sync you ipod or want to listen to music with your ipod. The only thing i have to say about it is if the external hard drive is if its connected to your computer with a USB rather than a firewire, then it might be slower to load than if you keep it on an internal hard drive. But it will work and wont be very slow, just slower.

My IPod Does Not Seem to "See" My External Hard Drive

It sounds like the external hard drive might have been disconnected, which would cause iTunes to go crazy trying to find songs. iTunes was not developed to incorporate that kind of system, unfortunately. It likes all of its songs on the main hard drive where it sees them. There should be an option to "Consolidate Library" under the Advanced menu. That will move all of the songs into iTunes' set folder for music. Let me know what you find.

IPod addition

you can have more than one library on the same system.. hold down the Shift Key while you launch the itunes application.. this will allow you to create a new library or choose from those you already have.

Music on iPod stops randomly and skips to next song

turn every program but itunes off. your firewall is interrupting your sync. close all programs or turn off your anti-virus and firewall so nothing can interrupt. keep me posted with results.

Did you place the music on your iPod via iTunes, or just drag and drop to the device?

The music must be added through iTunes, or the iPod will just act as an external hard drive--storing your music, but you can't play it.

If you just dragged and dropped, take it off your iPod, start up iTunes, then add the music that way.
