Sounds simple enough. Take out all cartridges as if you was changing them. Remove all cartridges then remove the base the cartridge sit in. Run it under water leave to dry and place the cartridges back in.
Any HP printer has a printer head if you run the ink cartridge out of ink you can burn out the printer head Also Trying to refill these print cartridges can damage the print head so it is best to replace the cartridge rather than refill. Most print heads cost $50.00 for the print head and can be replaced by the user if yo have some mechanical skill. Go to http://www.hp.com to see how to change print head for your specific machine.
The black print head most likely is blocked with dried ink. Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.
please have at least 2 set of black ink cartridge to determine the problem where in print head area or ink cartridge itself. if two black ink cartridge inserted and still same problem you can now focus problem with the print head. change as possible.
You cannot print or copy when an ink cartridge is expended even if the other cartridges are not expended. Replace any expended cartridges before printing or copying.
There is a design reason why the print heads are changed when you change an ink cartridge is changed. The print head isn't made to be reused and the quality of your print will suffer at some point if you reuse the same print head 6 or 7 times. I would get new cartridges and be happy with the print quality that a new cartridges will bring.
Try opening the printer properties and cleaning the print heads (should probably be done each time a cartridge is changed), it uses some ink up but should clean the build up from running the previous cartridge dry and hopefully solve your printing problem.
open your list of printers. r/click on the 780 and open properties. fo to the last tab "maintenance" and run cleaning 2 or 3 times then run deep cleaning 2 or 3 times. and see how this helps. If you've never done it before you might want to take out the print head and clean it with alcohol. Take out all the ink like you were changing them then reach in and gently pull out the container that holds the ink. This is the print head. Clean it and replace it, then run clean and deep clean again. run Nozzle check to see how clean it's become and you'll definetly see a difference in your printing.
good luck
