SOURCE: I have an E3 error

E3 means that there is a problem with the heating system. The problem is either heating element or thermostat. The heating element in SMEG dishwashers is usually located underneath the appliance (in some model is at one side or at the back). Access is gained removing the front inspection panel at the bottom and the right hand side panel. Check at the bottom and see if the heating element is there. Check near to the heating element and locate also the thermostat, connected in line with the heating element. If the thermostat is not at the bottom, then it is inside the door, clipped near to the dispenser.
Before replacing parts test both heating element and thermostat.
Both parts are tested reading Ohms. Set the Multimeter on Impedance (any R scale).

Remove thermostat and element from circuit and read impedance touching each part contacts with multimeter probes. If the element reads infinity of Ohms (open, same as on air), then the part must be replaced. A good element will read a value different from infinity (SMEG is usually 30/40 Ohms).

The thermostat is tested in a similar way. A good thermostat will read zero or a couple of Ohms at room and will open when water is hot. Usually is only necessary to test the thermostat at room, testing in hot water is more complex. If the thermostat is open at room temperature, replace the thermostat (at room it must read zero or a couple of Ohms). If the thermostat does not open in hot water, replace the thermostat.

If thermostat and element are OK, inspect the control board.

Zanussi dishwasher anti flood device

There is a water level pressure switch that is your issue. Replace that or if youre lucky, clean the hose/pipe connected to the pressure switch and it could work again.

there is a water leak in your dishwasher. Need to find the source of the leak. Usually a cracked hose or water leak through door gasket.

You can check this by turning off the water supply and mains power. Take dishwasher out from under bench if you can and tilt it back and forth a few times. Wait 10 minutes and turn back the power. Check if flood message has disappeared.

On display E6? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Hello, the issue is either that the filter at the front bottom has some particles in it. if you have cleaned this then remove the outlet pipe at the back and run water through it. If that works ok then the only thing left is the pump. I've been informed by Smeg that it would probably mean a replacement pump is needed. One thing to try after cleaning the pipes and filter is to get a low level bucket and put the end of the outlet pipe into it to let the water drain off. So long as the bucket is at a low level it will allow the machine to drain off. Then try switching the machine off for a few minutes, then back on and running another cycle. Last thing to check is that there is no blockage inside the machine where the water emptys through the hole in the rubber at the front. If none of that works then have a chat to SMEG support at this page:

Whirlpool dihwasher adp 4552. Water comes into dishwasher, appears to start cycle then water is drained out again and light flashes to show a problem!

This is a typical anti flood activation due to the anti flood device (polystireen float and micro switch) at the base of the washer detecting a water leak / spill. This device puts the washer in pump out mode. Check to see if water at the base is causing the polystireene float to activate the switch. Dry the water and rectify the fault (normally a leaky pipe or pipe clamp) and this should solve the problem.

Dishwasher fdb4315lfc stuck with eco wash led and a pump running

Sounds like the Anti-flood switch has been triggered - possibly due to overfilling. Check seal of water level pipe at each end.

Need to know how to re-set the anti-flood device

I managed to clean the filter inside the dishwasher and drain a little residual water. I then re-plugged in the appliance and the anti-flood device seemed to reset and I have n't had any problems since.

SA 660 SMEG dishwasher constantly filling....

this can be water draining from your sink into the dishwasher via the drain pipe, assuming the drain pipe goes to a spigot on the sink trap.
take the drain hose up as high as possible in a swan neck to prevent this.

I know it's either one or two things, but I wanted advice: I have the appliance above. It was present when I bought my house, so no manual is available. I did go online and look at a few manuals, but they are vague anyway as I am not that handy when it comes to appliances. A few days ago, there was standing water at the bottom of said dishwasher. When turning on the dishwasher, you can hear it start up, there are even audible * gurgle* sounds here and there, but soon after the start up (say 2 mins in)the machine stops. I have left it for awhile and no error comes up on the digital panel, it just stays on the cycle chosen (i.e. P4). I have checked the filter and it was not bad besides a few bits of crumbs and a few long hairs from my wife. The water does seems cloudy though. Also, to let you know, we do pre-wash thoroughly so we like to think the main use of the appliance is for any bits missed and sterilizing. Thus: 1. It may be a clogged drain pipe. Where can I access this easily and how should I go about cleaning it? A step-by-step would help. As stated before, I am not confident in appliances. 2. Obviously, it may be a bad drain pump. I will try anything once, but on your experience with this model, would it be feasible if a novice such as myself would attempt to buy a new drain pump and replace it? Very long winded, I know, but I wanted to give as much detail as possible. Apologies. Thank you for all your help!
