UV from the sun is highest in spring and summer from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. UV guidelines can be exceeded in 15 minutes on a clear summer day. Clouds may do little to reduce UV levels. See how is UV radiation bad for your eyes here. http://www.taimeopt.com/how-is-uv-radiation-bad-for-your-eyes/ Thus, you know it matters.
And try to choose the best sunglasses for you.
Different colors protect differently, for instance, gray and black tints protect the eyes from intense lights and help you to avoid distorting other colors you are looking at. This is because the light comes from waves and these can cause glare, therefore, if you want to avoid glare you need to wear glasses that are polarized.

Hope it helps.

Yes, ultraviolet (UV) eye protection matters. UV radiation from the sun can damage not only the skin of your eyelid but also the cornea, lens and other parts of the eye. UV exposure also contributes to the development of certain types of cataracts.
When you're choosing sunglasses, look for UV-protection details on product labels. Choose sunglasses that block 99 to 100 percent of both UVA and UVB rays. Skip sunglasses that are labeled "cosmetic" and those that don't offer details on UV protection. Opt for larger lenses rather than smaller lenses - or, better yet, the wraparound variety.

Tips for Buying Sunglasses. In the market for a new pair of sunglasses? If you've ever shopped for a pair of shades, you know the experience is anything but simple. With thousands of styles and colors to choose from, how do you know where to start? You'd like a hip style that makes you look fashionable, but you are also concerned about finding proper protection for your eyes. Following are a few tips to keep in mind while shopping for sunglasses. 1.•Look for sunglasses that block 99-100 percent of all UV light. Look for a label showing how much UV radiation the lenses reflect. Read labels carefully. If you are concerned, ask your optician, optometrist or ophthalmologist for his or her opinion.
2.Select a tint color based on your particular needs. Different tints filter different wavelengths of light. Gray is usually recommended for driving for proper traffic light recognition. Also, check that the tint appears uniform across each lens.
3.Try the sunglasses on in front of a mirror. If you can see your eyes behind the sunglasses, they may not be dark enough for you. 4. Be aware that dark-colored sunglasses don't necessarily provide better protection from the sun's harmful rays.
5.If you are considering purchasing a gradient tint, make sure the tint lightens gradually, from the top to the bottom.
6.•Check closely for imperfections or distortions in both lenses: holding the glasses at arm's length, slowly move them across a straight line in the distance. A distortion in the lens may cause the straight line to appear curved or appear to move. Keep in mind that some extremely curvy or wrap-around styles of sunglasses may cause items to appear curved because of the way the lenses must be cut to fit into the wrapped frame.
7.•Don't let price determine your purchase. Higher-priced sunglasses often reflect fashion, not UV protection.

Tips for Choosing Good and cheap sunglasses.
UV Protection
•Make sure the sunglasses you choose will block at least 99 percent of the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. UV-blocking glasses protect the cells in your eyes from damage that can lead to cataracts or macular degeneration. If you purchase sunglasses that don't block UV rays effectively, you will be missing out on the most basic function of sunglasses: protecting your eyes. Even the cheapest plastic lenses often come with 99 percent or 100 percent UV protection, so check the label before you buy.
Lens Type
•When browsing the sunglasses rack, keep in mind that some lenses are better than others. Inexpensive sunglasses are usually fitted with plastic lenses, which come in many varieties. For driving or outdoor sports, polarized lenses are best--they block reflected light from the road, snow or water. For general-use sunglasses, grey-tinted lenses are recommended because they absorb light evenly and provide clear and comfortable viewing.
Frames
•Although you will not be paying much for your sunglasses, you will still want them to last more than a few days. Cheap sunglasses made with metal frames are often flimsy and break easily at the joints. A pair of shades with sturdy plastic frames are likely to last longer than metal-framed sunglasses. Plastic frames are also preferable because they will not rust when wet, take longer to sink if dropped in water, won't get hot if left in the sun and are easier to find at the bottom of a pool.

How to chooes the best sunglasses for Healthy Eyes??

Whether you go for the Risky Business or Olson sisters' look, make sure your shades have 100% UV protection to filter both UVA and UVB rays. Oversize and wraparound frames offer more coverage to protect the soft tissue around your eyes. And polarized lenses make it easier to see in very bright conditions. The brand is not that important . Make sure that when wear your sunglasses it covers up your entire sight.

Are cheap sunglasses safe? Are cheap sunglasses safe?

Most sunglasses do provide enough UV protection.Still, you don't want to take any chances. When shopping, look for a label that states they provide UV 400 or at least 99 percent UVB and 95 percent UVA protection. Ideally, they will also have an "ANSI Z80.3" sticker, which shows the manufacturer paid a licensing fee to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), guaranteeing the product has met set criteria.

Tips on Choosing best sunglasses for golf

Polarization - The most important factor in choosing the best golf sunglasses for you should be how much of the suns harmful UV rays they block. Ideally the best golf sunglasses will block out 100% of the UV rays without limiting your vision.
Most manufactures will rate how much UV rays they block with a nanometer chart. The higher the nanometer rating the better.Weight- The second most crucial factor in choosing the best golf sunglasses is the weight. Having a bulky pair of golf sunglasses can shift too much or even fall off when swinging a club, completely distracting your focus. These days there is an abundance of golf sunglasses made out of technologically advanced lightweight materials. The best golf sunglasses should be so light you barely notice them on your face.Style- This factor may be at the top of the list for some in choosing the best golf sunglasses for them. After all, impressing the drink cart girls with your sense of style is pretty important. Some guys can pull off just about any look, but when shopping for the best golf sunglasses you should try a lot of different models on to make sure you don't choose a style that doesn't work for you. In finding the best golf sunglasses you will want to find which frame type and lens shape fits your face the best.
Price - Although some golfers spend enough money to feed a small village on golf gear, obtaining the best golf sunglasses for you doesn't have to break the bank. Surprisingly, some of the best golf sunglasses we've come across are some of the most economically priced.
Where to buy- Typically golfing sunglasses can be overpriced at country club supply shops.

Why is it important to wear sunglasses?

Sunglasses are a great fashion accessory, but their most important job is to protect your eyes from the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. Some of the reasons why these sunglasses are necessary are:
1. Cataracts, a clouding of the eye's lens that can blur vision. An estimated 20% of cases are caused by extended UV exposure.
2. Macular degeneration, resulting from damage to the retina that destroys central vision.
3. They are capable of blocking out 99 to 100% of both UVA and UVB radiation.
Apart from these reasons, sunglasses also provide you an attractive look. If you want to get these protective and attractive sunglasses, you can prefer PINK DONUT, as they provide the best quality and trending sunglasses at a reasonable price.

Do I still need those "UV Protective" sunglasses

Yes! Most people believe that the darkness of the lens is what protects their eyes. The degree of darkness has no effect on UV rays. For adequate protection, you need to buy sunglasses that indicate they block 100 percent of the sun's UV rays.
