Sounds like a problem in the power to the unit. Something should run. check for power at the control panel.

My Duo-therm Brisk-Air by Dometic rv ac wont cool.(The fan runs )

Usually just listening closely will give you a rough idea where to look for problem. When you have the fan on and switch to cool, (with temperature turned down low obviously) do you hear any type of "moaning" sounds from AC unit, or see lights in RV dim slightly indicating that compressor is trying to engage? Is the breaker tripping when compressor tries to engage? Do you hear a "click" from AC unit when switched to cool? If none of that happens, then I'd start thinking thermostat, or compressor relay. Normally if it's a faulty capacitor, the compressor will try to engage but will make a "moaning sound" and usually trip the breaker due to excess current draw. Someone experience in electrical should be able to test relays etc, but whoever does work on it, should be aware that those capacitors, as well as hydro in general are very dangerous to work with. The ("zap",- Shock) that you can experience from a capacitor or hydro, can be fatal.

Duo therm ac not working

Make sure the fan blade turns freely when off. Not bound up anywhere. Check or replace the fan motor capacitor.

Compressor turns on but fan does not, fan motor is not siezed up rv is only one year old. but ac has not been turned on for 9 months.

Ok, the easiest way to check this is to remove the upper shroud of the AC unit. Have someone inside the coach while you are up there, have them turn the thermostat to ON/High Fan. If the fan does not come one, spin it by hand to see if that gets it going. If that works, let it run for a few minutes, shut down the AC and then lubricate the shaft points on the motor (WD-40 works). Try the unit again, if it does not start on its own this time, then you probably have a bad fan capacitor. It is located in the upper unit inside the small access panel. Two brown wires attached to it.

Hope this helps,

Duo-therm by dometic ac rv unit

I suspect that you have a bad selector switch for the on, off, low fan, high fan operation. If the selector switch is put into the off position everything should stop completely.
