Thank you. I tried your suggested solution but it did not work. I guess I must have left the MD inside this MD deck player for too long . Sigh. I only tried the MD player again after my recent house move, and I must have not touched it for like a few months now.

I looked at a manual for your unit.Right now what I would suggest is to unplug it for 5 minutes, plug it back in,and try to eject it.The more modern electronics such as yours occassionally 'lock up'.Some units with this digital circuitry require 30 seconds to reset itself, some 5 minutes.Digital electronics are basically almost anything you can program in some way, with the exception of video game consoles which also reset. From ovens to DVD players,to thermostats(LCD display type). If you have other things which work like this, always remember this remedy. If it does not eject, comment back here,I will get an autolink to your post and I will try something else.
Good luck,Greg

Since it appears to go in and out more like a VCR tape than a DVD with a tray,I do not know exactly if you want to try to retieve it yourself or send it somewhere.I can tell you how to go about taking it apart carefully if you like.I have done many repairs before and have a background in what's necessary to check it out.It really wouldn't be difficult for me to tell you what to do if you like.Even now,if there's something I haven't done,I will take it apart. That's how to learn. All you probably need to do is buy the proper screwdriver set. They are called jeweler's screwdriver sets.Probably about $5-$10.I can give you my phone number and talk you through it also.At least look for some place who can do it do it fairly cheap, close to you.Where are you anyhow?Think about it and let me know what you want to do,if anything.Seriously, you could probably do it.I have developed a system to remember what goes where. It just takes a little thinking and doing. You will not get electrocuted,as long as it's unplugged obviously.Greg

Sony minidisc will not eject discs

This could be a worn out loader. I've had bad luck with push in to load decks since I push them in too hard and wear them out, I migrated to tray loaders for this reason (I have a JA50ES and a JA20ES) which like other high end MD decks have a try which opens up to accept the disc.

The mehanisms wear out and are not worth fixing. I paid a pro $350 to fix a JA3ES a few years back and it only worked for a short time. I'd simply try to find a replacement deck rather than spend too much time or trouble on it. The 510 and 520 are great decks but getting very long in the tooth like me...

My ejected button doent work the diaply says disc loading

I am sorry to say that probably your loader the mechanical mechanism is damaged so the MD is not getting into the right place. I sadly paid $350 to Pro Digital in Philadelphia to fix a high end Sony MD Deck only to have the same problem again in a few months and then sell the unit for parts.

If your deck won't load a disc from a tray loading model like the legenday Sony JA50ES or JA20ES it is a simple raplacemnt of a over stretched drive loading belt. But on the push to load models it is a big problem which is proibably not cost effective to fix as it was in my case. There are many minidisc decks on ebay of all brands, they are alive and well there along with discs and accessories for most machines.

A note on replacement bands for Sony Trays, to the best of my knowledge they are no longer made by Sony or avaiable in North America, but they are available from several suppliers in Germany. So if you are searching for a MDS tray loding belt check to set your search for an international search on eBay and they will turn up. I replaced the drive belts on both of my high end Sony MD Decks last year this way.

I have a tascam 564 i,m unable to eject the disk from the machine it only reads disc loading

I listed a similar answer for a similar qestion. If you have a push in to load mechanism, it is probably worn out. I had similar problems and found they were impossible to correct - think of it is an out of allignment or mechanical problem.

The few places which can fix this problem were charging $60 an hour plus shipping to and from, and may not have the parts to fix it. the cheapest way to go is to eBay for another MD.

If you are buying a used deck check it out like this - Load and record a good disc. Eject it and then replay it. If the reloaded disc plays you have a good MD if not you have a bad MD recorder of some sort.

Bad decks act like they are recording but MDs are not CD recorders they use a laser and a magnetic riding skate on the other side to of the MD write to the disc. If the skate is damaged they will appear to write but when you put the disc in another recorder or reload it to your recorder they will not have anything recorded on them.

I get bothered when I see clueless ads for used MD recorders saying it plays but does not record but it is a simple fix - It is not and the unit although it will probably play well it is not cost effective to fix the record problem I mentioned.

Which sony plays hi-md

Hi-MD came after most of the sony decks were made so most of them will not play the discs. The JA50, 20, 333 and other sought after high end decks cannot handle them.

If you check ebay you might find a third party later MD deck which can play them (I believe someone made one).

When the discontinued Hi-MD discs started selling for $30 up each I sold all of mine and the Hi-MD portables too. You can hook up the Hi-MD via rca and just copy them if need be for a special song but this is not pratical due to the vast difference in storage on the discs in most cases.

Stuck in eject

Wow. A cheap MD deck from 1998. Brings back memories.

The last time mine did that the sticky label came off and jammed up the mechanism.

Take the cover off and see what you can do by hand. Be REAL careful not to touch anything that looks electrical!

Sony tc-wr535 won't eject. Tape stuck. Won't play cassette on either deck A or B .makes noises but won't FF or play, gets stuck and wont eject. Will belt conditioner work? What do I use?

The problem, according to messages on your site, is that the belts are old and have stretched. There is a great step by step tutorial on www.Instructables.com with pictures and all. Parts are not too hard to find on search engine. Looks like less than $25 to fix.

MDS-JE470 mini-disc capstan motor will not rotate disc and ejects

I have not had your problem myself, however, I am pretty sure the disc/s you are trying to play are not in the same readable format your MD player is, hence, the ejecting. I think you might have to either connect your player to a computer and re-initialise the system format/s and/or you may just have to (annoyingly) replace all of the MiniDiscs you have - which is not the best/rewarding way to go... quite irritating actually !!
Good luck to you though !!
