Sound Driver for AMD Duron 756

I have a Vulcan 1010 which has an AMD Duron 756 processor, running Windows Millenium. The sound card is no longer recognised and cannot find driver for it on any of the original installation discs. Listed in system as PCI Multimedia Audio Device.

How can I find out what sound card it is so that I can download correct driver?

Hi, the details on the back of the computer are

    BOM No 9-v1010

    VU122000 01704

    It is a Vulcan 1010

    AMD Duron Processor

I'd have to open up the pc to find out any more than that, I don't know what the make or model is of the sound card, again will probably need to open up and look inside.

    Hi All,

I've managed to fix it myself, after all. I opened the system up (easier than I'd thought) and got the name and model number which was printed on the sound card. Then googled it and got the driver to download. Anyone else having this problem who doesn't know the name or model of the sound card should do this as it's really easy (just be careful not to touch the inside parts unless you know what you're doing).

Thanks to all for trying to help.

I'll need one of the following three things: The manufacturer & model of your computer, the manufacturer & model of your motherboard, or the model of the sound card installed in your computer. If it's an additional soundcard, remove it and look at it and it should have the model number somewhere on it otherwise just the name and model of the main chip on the soundcard will help. If it's built in audio, I need the computer make and model or the motherboard information.

My computer no sound

I assume it is not muted in windows or by an external switch on the PC. If this is not he case, sounds like you need to replace the sound card.

I have windows xp, received the service pack 3 from microsoft no longer have sound, the volume control is grayed out, is there anything I can do to restore sound. My computer came preinstalled so I do not...

First think I would try would be to let windows reinstall the sound driver.

Right click on my computer
click properties
click hardware
click device manager
found the sound and video controllers section
click the plus to display your sound drivers
click you sound card and delete it on your keyboard
click action at top of screen
click scan for hardware changes.
might have to restart computer.

please let me know if this dosent work and we can go onto next step.

Motherboard Sound card problems k8v-mx

I've produced the link for the download, but firstly remove the audio driver and reboot before trying to reinstall the drivers. Make sure you have very little applications running in the background before trying this.

A video card with more onboard RAM would help cure the stuttering but it also depends on what you have running in the background. Hope this helps.
