As an old sage permit a casual observation. Under no circumstance do you want to buy sunglasses based on its brand. You want to buy the glasses on the quality of its lenses and the lenses' ability to filter the bad stuff from your eyes. Your eyes are critically important to you. You may not care now but later on when you begin seeing poorly you might look back and say "gee, I wish I had gone with the better stuff." I hate preaching but my sight is so important to me. Words similar to these were spoken to me over 50 years ago while I was dropping what was a ton of money then for a RayBans. They were glass and zero power prescription. Like any glasses they fell into the water never to be seen again by me or other horror stories but I always got more somehow. It was last year that I had to have cataract surgery in both eyes and now I can see almost as well as then. Yes, I still use the RayBans; however, there are other brands available that compare favorably. If you can, permit a luxury for you and see an opthalmologist for a complete eye check and go from there. Get his or her recommendation for a quality brand and go from there.

Tips on water sports sunglasses

When you're waterskiing, it's imperative that your line of vision is clear. After all, the other skiers, boaters and swimmers count on it. However, between the sun shining and the wind blowing in your face, you don't always see as well as you should. So it's no wonder that more and more waterskiers are investing in water sports sunglasses.
A great pair of water sports sunglasses, like Maui Jim sunglasses, will offer great protection against the sun's harmful UV rays, and yet still be versatile enough to perform all of your favorite water activities. Also, with rubber nose grips and saltwater effectiveness, you'll be looking sharp while watching your friends and family ski - and seeing sharply when it's (finally!) your turn to ski.
So before you head out to the boat, make sure you grab your pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. You'll not only be protecting your eyes, but you'll help be helping to protect everyone else in the water too.

What makes designer sunglasses so popular?

A large part of the popularity surrounding designer sunglasses is a result of celebrity style. Some of today's hottest celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton and Halle Berry have become infamous for the sunglasses they wear.

Cheap Sunglasses vs. Designer branded sunglasses:Which Offers Better Protection?

Don't get me wrong folks, I am a sunglasses fanatic. I own a couple of pairs of Maui Jim's, a pair of ReVo, and a pair of Bollé. I also proudly own Foster Grants, and a few pairs of Sun Classics (which available at some drugstores and souvir shops for cheap). The bottom line is don't be cheated, fooled or duped by salesman, a pretty pair of shades, or a designer label.Good sunglasses are simple! Just look for proper UV labeling and save yourself some money!

Looking for reviews on Bolle Anaconda Sunglasses. How is it?

I saw these glasses in a gold box special at ~$70 off. If I didn't like them I could always return them.
I was really surprised at the quality of these sunglasses. My $220 Maui Jim's fell to the ground and one of the lenses had a chip which developed into a giant crack. I really didn't want to spend that much on something so fragile.
The Bolle's are fantastic. The polarization is right on target. When you tilt your head left and right you don't get extreme changes in polarization which can be distracting with other brands.
They came shipped in a nice rigid case with cleaning cloth.
I will say they sit close to the face, which I like. It keeps the maximum amount of sun out of your eyes. Those of you fortunate enough to have extra long eyelashes may want to test drive these first.
Overall, I'm very pleased.

What are the trends in Kids' Sunglasses?

1.Styling that mimics that of adult sunglasses - cool, sophisticated and trendy.
2.Modern plastic styles in rich colors (no more bubble-gum colors).
3.Sports eyewear in scaled-down versions of adult styles.
4.Clip-on sunglasses for children's prescription eyeglasses. Clip-ons are readily available and reasonably priced. Instead of attaching with metal clips (which can scratch eyeglass lenses), you can now also buy sunglass clip-ons that are magnetically attached.
5.Brand name appeal. Kids are becoming nearly as brand-conscious as their parents and older siblings. Major eyewear manufacturers have teamed up with Disney, popular cartoons and young celebrities to create eyewear and sunglasses made for and appealing specifically to children.
