Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

Frozen on album

My zen has forzen on a particular album. I can't use the switch to turn it on or off. If I press the reset button it simply resets to the same album. None of the buttons work, except the tracker which seems stuck on the volume control. It will connect to my computer and I can playback tracks that are on my zen through my PC, so I guess the hard drive is working ok. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Just an idea, I'm no expert. Leave the player on to run the battery out and so it shuts down. Boot up into the Recovery menu by prodding the Reset button during Boot up; choose Format and yes; you'll lose everything, but you can reload it all and hopefully the player will give you pleasure again.

Have you registered your player with Creative. There is a good knowledge bas on the Creative web site.

Thanks for your suggestion, unfortunately because the tracker button doesn't work either I can't actually select any of the recovery menu options. Thanks again for trying.

I stumbled on a knowledge base on the Creative web-site after I had registered the player; maybe this was not available to me previously.
This player has a Reset button sunk into the base. It needs a prod with the end of a paper clip during the boot up. The resultant Recovery menu gives the option to Format the disc which I've done and successfully loaded my music back again. It is now playing very nicely and hopefully will continue to do so.

I hope this info will help others with the same problem. I t appears that the music files can become corrupted very easily.

Deleting an album from the zen mp3 player . the system has stopped and frozen. What can I do ?

First try to reset it by pushing the reset button with a sharp object ...It has to be hidden in a hole on a side or the back ..and you will need that sharp object to press the button until it restarts..After that it will probably work ok ..if not ..you need to format it .and reload the firmware ..
here is the site and instructions for doing that ...The firmware you will find under downloads on same page at the support
http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=63033
by the way ..the reset is located on the bottom ...I just sow on the support page ..

Dear sir, my zen creative i pod is freezes on zen screen, it also does't connecting with my pc. so plz guide me how to solve my problem.

Hello

Flip the "Hold" switch that's on either one of the sides or the top of the MP3 player to "OFF." Press "Play" or any other button to try to unfreeze the player.

Leave the MP3 player on in its frozen state until the player's battery completely dies. Depending on the amount of life left on the battery, this could take several hours.

Connect the MP3 player (using the universal serial bus or USB cord) to an MP3 charger or a computer. Turn the computer on. Leave the MP3 player charging for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Connect the MP3 player to a computer using the USB cord. Open the software media program that syncs with that particular MP3 player. Then, click on the "Sync Player" or "Sync" link or tab, depending on the program you're using. Wait ten seconds, and then try to use the MP3 player. Disconnect the player from the computer if it's still frozen.

Press "Reset" on the MP3 player. Depending on the MP3 player you own, the button may be easy to find or incredibly small. With tiny buttons, a tack, needle or similar item is needed for pushing. Press and hold the "Reset" button for approximately seven to ten seconds. The player should unfreeze and reset. Some data, such as music, may be removed from the MP3 player during this process.

My zen touch is frozen. I can push the reset button. It then rebuilds the library and goes to play the same song ever time but does not due anything. It remains frozen and non of the buttons work. John

Since the reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

My zen has frozen and it is still on.

Try resetting it with the reset button on the side of the player. You need to use a pin to push it. If it resets successfully use the players utility to reset and check it.

Cheers

"If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."

Stuck with my creative zen

There's a little area at the bottom that says, reset, you take a thumbtack, and just pop it in! It will be back to working condition without losing files with no problems!
