Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Windows Photo Gallery or any other photo cataloging program.

Asus Computer doesnt recognize my Canon power shot 300 I have windows 7

Don't forget to install the Canon software that came with the camera. If you lost the camera, try the Canon website I managed to get the newest software for Windows 7 last week. Works fine.
Before your computer can work with any camera, you need drivers and some management software. Canons software is called ZoomBrowser EX. (also needed, when you want to manage pictures from a external card reader)

Window 7 doesn't recognize birdcam

after plugging in the USB cable to the camera and computer you need to set the mode button on the camera to "setup". Then the USB will be recognized and you'll be able to see your drive and pictures. I had the same problem then went and re-read the instruction manual... when in doubt... READ :)

Windows 7 will not recognize the camera. Canon website says there are no drivers for the camera.

images can be viewed using memory card only on Windows 7. This requires your computer to have a memory card reader that you can insert your Camera's memory card into. If your printer has a memory card reader, you could use that as well.

If you want to use the camera with a USB cable, you will need another computer with Windows XP installed as the Operating system, or you will need to purchase a newer camera that is compatible with Windows 7.

Please follow the below troubleshooting steps below if your Computer is installed with any of the above mentioned Operating System. Please note that other Operating Systems are not compatible with your Camera. Please make sure that the connections are secure. Prior to making any adjustments, first ensure you've firmly connected your Camera's USB cable into the USB port on your PC. Power off and disconnect your Camera from your computer. Restart your computer. After your computer is rebooted, connect your camera to your computer using the USB cable provided. Note: Connect your camera to an alternate USB port, preferably on the back of your computer. Select MTP instead of default PC from the USB select screen appears on the LCD screen after connect the Camera to the Computer. I have a Handycam dcr hc21 but windows 7 64 do not recognize it, please!!!! any solution for this problem

http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Sony%20Handycam%20DCR-HC21%20MiniDv%202.5LCD%2020X%20Camcorder&v=Sony&uid=DCR-HC21&l=en-US&pf=0&pi=2&c=Cameras%20%26%20Photo&sc=Camcorders&os=64-bit

As you can see at the above link, this camcorder is not compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. Don't worry, you have two options:

1) Switch to Windows 7 32-bit

2) Get a analog to digital converter. Basically, a box that takes the yellow, red, white connections out of your camera (using the cable that came with camera) and converts it to a firewire connection to your computer.

A good converter box: http://www.amazon.com/Hardware-ADVC-55-d-Converter-Ntsc/dp/B000HGVZG0/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1299245595&sr=1-7

Hope this helps.

Sony webcam no longer works with windows 7

1. The drivers for this Web camera may not be developed for Windows 7 64 bit by the manufacturer.
You will either have to purchase a new camera to be compatible with Windows 7 or Vista 64.
This is also true for your SD card reader.

Go out to the camera's manufacture web site and check to insure that the camera is compatible with Windows 7, if it is download the latest drivers from their site. A lot of older devices are not compatible with Windows 7 or you just might need newer drivers.
