Question about HP Photosmart M525 Digital Camera

1 Answer

It says card locked, I figured it out!!!!

It seems to me that I had this problem before I can't take pictures because it says CARD LOCKED. I put the card into my computer yesterday and have changed the batteries, can't figure out how to unlock. oops, I just did, it is like on the old "floppy disks" or cassette tapes. You need to push a little yellow button on the card up or down to lock or unlock!
Pretty dumb of me...maybe someone else has this problem!

As mentioned above, I took the card out of the camera and found that there was a little yellow tab that needed to be moved to unlock the card....very simple, like the old cassettes, Videotapes or floppy discs. Just posting the question opened my eyes!!!

MEMORY CARD LOCKED

All SD cards I have ever seen can be locked with a little slide on the left side as you face the label. if the slide is up, the card is unlocked and can be used for taking pictures. If the slide is down, it is in the locked position, which prevents it from overwriting anything that is currently on the card. Before you unlock it you may want to verify that all pictures on the card (if any) have been saved because once you start using the card and overwriting its contents, the pictures are gone forever. If the card is empty, just unlock it, format it and start taking pictures.

Picture is locked on card

Hi there
Make sure the write protect is off by taking the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this 59a6de4.jpg .

Hope this helps.

Card Locked

There is probably a little slide on the side of the card that locks it. Take the card out and slide it back to the unlocked position.

Card locked

Your card might have a tiny "switch" on it that you may have slid into the locked position when you were installing it. I have media for my Fuji camera that has this feature. Take the card/chip out, and see if you can find any movable bits. (I hope you figured out a solution before the December holidays.)

The card locked usually means 'protected' Check out the manual for image protection - on/off. Or put card back into computer and delete[NOT FORMAT] from there. A more comprehensive manual is usually found the the CD that came with the camera
