Question about Dirt Devil MO82500 Bagless Canister Vacuum

1 Answer

How do I take apart the body of dirt devil 82500? I think something shorted out, and want to see if I can fix it. I took all visible screws out of body, but still can't separate the two halves to get to the motor

This is sort of easy, and hard at the same time.

First remove the dirt canister and hose.
take out your exhaust filter.
find all of your screws on the one side of the unit and remove them.
you will find one of the screws BEHIND the wheel on the same side all of the other screws are. Use the hole in the wheel to get at it.

Generally where the cord shorts out is right where it goes into the machine on the bottom there.

Good luck.

Dirt Devil bagless upright. sucks up dirt in the front and spits it out in the back. I have taken it apart to check for visible clogs in hoses and checked belt and rollers all of which are fine. what next?

There seems to be no vacuum drawing the debris away from the brush head. Remove the debris canister to check for air blowing into it. Check particularly, the area where the brush head pivots off of the upright portion. Hope this helps!

The vaccum doesn't pick up dirt, it sprays out

There is probably a second or third filter (besides the canister) that needs to be cleaned.
I doubt that it's rotating the wrong direction.

Dynamite Dirt Devil Hose

I figured out how last night.
Take a screw driver and unscrew the screw on the top of hose and take the hose out and take a pen or something long enough with grip to get all of the junk out.

The circulation still isn't as strong though.

Dog chewed power cord

you have to take the machine completely apart and get inside where the motor is.take the cover off there are 3 screws 2 on the left side behind the hose and 1 on the right side back by the wheel.that will take the covr off.now where the upright sets on the base you will see a ******** each side of the motor, take those off, that will seperate the upright from the base.now you have to open the motor housing, there are 4 screws 2 on the front side and 2 on the bach side that will expose the motor and the cord.take out the old cord and splice in the new one.then put it all back together in reverse of how you took it apart.please leave feedback
