Question about Panasonic SC-HT940 System
Although the Panasonic Home Theater systems are great when they work properly. If your machine displays the "f61" error message, it's likely to be little more than a paper weight for the average person. The inner workings of the machine are rather complex to disassemble for diagnostics. And can take several hours to check all the components. The best advice I can give you is to sell the machine on e-bay as a broken item. If you offer shipping you can get more money for a complete system (speakers & all).

Hi, there is a service bulletin from panasonic for this kind of problem, I can't lay my hands on it at the moment, but to cut a long story short, there are other components on the main PWB that need to be replaced because they have been "fried" because the customer has been leaving the unit switched "on" 24/7 instead of setting it back to "standby" when they have finished using it.
