ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.
First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.
Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer. Download this digital camera recovery software Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.
This due to a malfunction in the software your usin to to download the photos.May be because your file no. is reseted. The best way is to connect the pc to your machine. When the software pops in close it down.Manually go to my computer and access the photos from the memory card or camera which appears as a memory storage device
To make things easier, you should buy a card reader. There are different types.
MS Pro Card Reader - Is ONLY for the sony memory cards
Multi Card Reader - Will read sD, xD, Ms Pro Duo, Ms Pro, Compact Flash, Smart Media, etc.
Sony has a new memory stick out called the memory stick pro duo. Your P73 does not take this. The P73 takes the Memory Stick Pro. Which is a longer stick. You can go out to best buy or ritz camera and buy a card reader (Memory Stick Pro) and stick your memory card into the card reader and stick that into your USB port on your computer. Since it is USB, this will require NO SOFTWARE.
Your camera came out in 2004. Vista did not come out until early 2007. A lot of software does not work with vista.
You need to go to MENU, roll down to SET UP
if you roll down you would see at top
"Camera1", "Camera2" and "Memory Stick"
go to Memory Stick and roll down to COPY
go to ALBUM...
and then she ask you...All data in Album will be copied. Ready? touch OK ....
Now you create a folder with all the photos in the memory and you can download it.
I hope this help you...Liz Annette PR
See if you can download the photos through the USB cable. Then try reformatting it in the camera. Otherwise, I probably would get rid of it. Memory is cheap enough, and it's not worth the risk to keep around an unreliable memory card.
