Not flushing, bowl will not fill up with water

Hi rjhfp

Check inside of the tank to make sure the connector from the handle of the flusher to the "flapper valve" is connected, to do this you have to remove the tank lid.
If it is connected then you have a different problem.
Sounds like you have trash in the valve inside of the "ballcock assembly"
The ballcock assembly is the part that lets the water into the tank, and the "flapper valve" is the part that allows the water to flush into the bowl...
Replace you ballcock assembly and it will solve your problems.

How can we stop our 1.5 year old pegasus dual flush toilet from continually running?

Remove the lid from the tank. Verify that the tank is full. Shut off the water to the tank, at the wall. Wait 5 minutes. If the level has fallen in the tank, the flapper valve in the bottom of the tank is the culprit. If the tank remained full, the issue is with either the fill valve assembly or the overflow tube.

Tiolet tops up tank every 10 minutes or so.

With the toilet tank topped off, turn off the water supply. Then put a generous amount of food coloring in the tank. Wait ten minutes. If you see colored water in the bowl it will confirm that the flapper is leaking and needs some adjustment or to be replaced.

Tiolet not flushing right. Water not coming down the side of the bowl when flushing and 90 percent of the water is gone from the bowl.

1- Check ports out under rim all round bowl.

2-Check tank fill level for required amount to with in 5/8" to top of over flow tube.

3-Make sure 1/4" fill tube is connected to over flow tube. From fill valve to overflow tube.

Below is a few details to go by I hope will be helpful for you to take care of this problem.

Under the rim of the bowl check the ports and make sure they are not stopped up. You can open them up with nail or pin to clean out ports.
Next check tank level and make sure the fill valve has a line run from it to top of the overflow tube. This line allows water to goe to bowl and tank to fill required amount needed.
Water in tank should be within 5/8" to top of over flow tube.

The lever to flush the tiolet comes up too quickly. One has to keep it depressed to do a good flush.

Carefully remove the lid from the tank and set it down on a flat secure surface (lay it on some towels to prevent scratching or nicking. Inside the tank find the chain that runs from the flapper to the lifting bar. Adjust the lenght of the chain so the flapper raises to between 45 and 90 degrees of the drain. You may need to play around with the adjustment to get it just right. You don't need to cut the chain, just move the clip on chain. If this won't work the tank may not be filling to fill mark, which is about 1/4 below the overflow tube. Adjust float to get water to this level.

Strange that it went, but do you still have it? If so, bring it to your plumbing supply store and they should be able to match it up. Not sure why Home Depot can't help though. If you do not have it, bring the tank so they can try it right there. Good luck and make sure you don't overtighten when reassembling (can crack easier than you think). Can always tighten, but never loosen when it's too late.
