What format is the cruzer usb 2.0 flash drive in?

If there is any Media Error not possible to format the drive otherwise use the following method on Windows 7

Open a Administrator command Prompt and type the command one by one

1.list disk

you can find the avilable disk and note your USB Drive Disk Number


2.select disk 1 (change the number)

3.clean

4.create partition primary
5.format fs=ntfs quick
6.assign


if no problem in usb it will format your USB Drive

If you want to format a usb flash drive. the fastest way is:

1. click on start button. then click on computer.(on your start menu).
2. locate your usb flash drive letter.
3. single right click on your usb flash drive icon and then left click on format.

I would try reformatting it. Go to My Computer and rigt click on the thumb drive ( e: for example) and select format

Go to my computer and right click on the USB Flash Drive then left click on format

I had the same problem on my scandisk cruzer 4.0g usb flash drive. In the end I lost all data but I restored my flash drive back to normal. Program I used : Partition Magic. Hope this information will help you. God Bless.

Try this:

STEP 1 - Optimize the flash drive for performance
1. Plug in the device to the PC.
2. Double-click My Computer.
3. Right-click on the flash drive, then select Properties.
4. Click the Hardware tab.
5. Select the SanDisk Cruzer USB Device disk drive, then click Properties.
6. Click the Policies tab.
7. Select Optimize for performance, then click OK.

STEP 2 - Format the flash drive
1. Double-click My Computer.
2. Right-click on the flash drive, then select Format.
3. In the File system list, click NTFS.
4. Click Start.
5. Click OK to start formatting.

This is caused by 1 of 2 problems:

1. Your flash drive is corrupted in some way, forcing the computer to reformat it before you can use it.
2. The flash drive was formatted for a specific device (like a piano) and was made only for that device.
3. Your PC incorrectly recognized it
4. You do not have the correct drivers installed.

If you have problem #4, you can go onto google and search "1 gb cruzer micro drivers".
If you have problem #3, try plugging your flash drive into a different USB port.
If you have problem #2 or #1 (Which it most likely is), then you should try or buy a software application such as PC Inspector, to recover those files. Then you may reformat the flash drive.

However, I found that sometimes, just restarting the computer, and inserting and re-inserting the flash drive sometimes does work. But that's not guaranteed.
