Warranty If I lost my receipt would best buy have my warranty on file?

    i purchased a toshiba tdp-s8 dlp from your online sight,s/n 58591450(u), in november of 2006. i lost the receipt and was wondering if you could send me a copy.

    i notified toshiba with a warrenty claim and the company,( projector doctor) can't fix it without proof of purchase. thank you

I believe you might be able to get a copy of the receipt if you payed with credit card. I know you can do this at Circuit City. If you purchased one of their protection plans. If you read the pamphlet that they give you when you purchase the plan, it states at the bottom that user must retain this certificate and receipt for proof of purchase. Thats how they make their money in the hopes you will lose your stuff and never use it. Thats why I like circuit city they keep that sort of thing on file. You can still give it a try as I would.

Sir i have hynix 512 mb ram and now its not working. it is in warranty period . so plz send detail of hynix service center in delhi.


Hynix does not have any kind of consumer warranty as they usually sell to OEM builders such as Dell or HP. As such they deal in very large volumes or product.
On their website they state that they offer no direct consumer warranty, and recommend going through the seller for any warranty support.
I would recommend pursuing your warranty claim with whomever is providing it (whether it is a retailer such as best buy, etc. or direct through the manufacturer such as Dell or HP) I believe hynix is located in China so it might be very difficult to go through them anyway.

Why is understanding the warranty on notebook so important?


Warranty is usually stated in the receipt, warranty card and on a sticker at the back of laptop which indicate the shop's name and the date you made the purchase. Warranty is usually good for one year, in some cases, there is an option to increase the warranty year in exchange of a minimal amount. Warranty is your assurance is in good running condition, free of defects, and in the case that your unit will bogged down, the shop or the brand's company will have the responsibility to repair or replace the unit free of charge.

I would like to request to have my computer to be cleaned up because it runs very slow since i have a high speed internet but im not sure if i still have my warranty,thanks


We here can't tell you if you still have a warranty. You would need to check your sales receipt for the purchase date, then check the manufacturer's warranty information either online or in the materials that came with the computer. It's unlikely the manufacturer would pay for a warranty repair, though, unless a hardware problem causing your computer to run slowly.

The simplest solution is to back up your personal data, then restore the original factory software from the CD set (if one was supplied) or from the restore partition on the hard drive (if present). Consult the user's guide for your computer for the applicable procedure. Then make sure you install antivirus and antispyware applications and keep them updated.

If you don't want to restore the computer, try the basic housekeeping steps (cleaning up temporary files, defragmenting the hard drive, etc.) and do scans with current antivirus and antispyware programs. This may help. Most computer repair shops offer this kind of service at reasonable rates if you aren't sure how to proceed.

Have you registered it or do you still have the receipt for it? If you do, contact the store where you bought it and ask them if it's still under warranty; whether it is or not, you've answered your question.
Or, go to the company's website and check what their warranty policy is.

Warranty


All Dell computers have information a Service Tag on the back of the unit (or bottom if it is a laptop). This Service Tag number can be entered into the Warranty Information Center on Dell's website to determine eligibility.

It depends. When a company replaces a component that is in warranty with another component, the only warranty that transfers is the remainder of the warranty on the original product. So if I had a monitor with a three year warranty, and it stopped working after 2 years and 11 months, the company replaces it with a brand new monitor. That brand new monitor will only carry a one month warranty because that's all the warranty you had left.

That being said, make sure you let BB know that this was a replacement monitor for one that was under warranty. They may need the original monitor's specifications to look it up for you.
