One of the trays in the 5 cd changer fell out of place while the system was moved. Attempted to open changer to insert disk tray, however not sure if there is a sequence for the cd changer to open correctly. At present you can hear the gears working, but none of the cd trays will eject. ? ? ?

I have a Sony mini hifi stereo(pixy) and when ever I close the tray it continues to ... my cd player drawer opens ...
This does happen with CD trays, it's quite common. I can't remember the exact mot common cause, but it's some worn out part, such as a small (plastic) cog wheel. Search on "cd tray won't open" on the internet to find a multitude of reasons, most to do with computer CD trays, but I guess the mechanism is essentially the same. These may also describe ways round the problem.
Some CD players have a small hole on the front near the tray into which poking a straightened out paperclip should enable you to open the tray by a few mm, enough to be able to pull it open in an emergency - but it's awkward to do on a frequent basis.
Use common sense in removing them- You may have to open the unit up to see where they are. I can not see where they are located in your unit but usually opening the unit up will allow you to extract the discs without damage from the extraneous regions.
After some time it was showing some C 31 00 error. I searched on internet, opened the top cover, there is the CD changer and my cd was stuck in there, I pushed the CD from finger and there it goes... on press of eject it came out... thanks anyway...
This has just happened to us. Often when the changer tries to select a CD on random play, it somehow knocks one CD off the carousel, usually on top of the other 5 CDs and then you can retrieve it easily. This time it knocked it down behind the carousel so the drawer could not close. We left the drawer open, carefully took the player out and tipped it upside down and then tipped it forward. We then closed the drawer while it was still upside down and then turned the player back up the right way. The loose CD fell onto the carousel and we could then open it and retrieve the CD. No damage to either CD or changer and we are now listening to music again!
GG My kids had a PlayStation 2 that did this and so did my AIWA 3 CD player. The solution for the PlayStation was to remove the cover use alcohol and clean the lens of the laser reader. They get dust on them and simply cannot read. The AIWA required replacement of the laser which cost almost as much as the unit and didn't last 6 months.
