Im not sure there is any easy fix for this so I will just give a little advice.

Can you give me the make and model of the car? and is the alarm and immobilizer a standard factory one? Will do my best to help you once I know the make and model, and the year please.

Regards

Dan

    Hi

Right I thought it was a rover, theres 2 way to do this, firstly you can remove the door panel, quite easy then inside the door near the lock you will see a switch, small black thing, they often cause this issue, pull it out with wires complete so still attached replace the door card then each time you unlock the door with the key you press in the little switch and the car should start.

Not all rovers have this but it certainly sounds like the right model. the other thing is leave the switch where it is and there is a imobilizer unlock code with comprises of, turn key left hold for 2 seconds, turn right hold for 2 seconds and it goes on like that, you might need to get the number of your ecu and phone rover they will or at least should give you the code to do this. alternatively, I'm just trying to help here, go to honestjohn.co.uk and ask on the forum someone in there will know the excat code for your type of ecu. I am sorry I dont have the specifics but I have had this fault myself and had to get help as well, so this is just advice mate, I understand the predicament so hopefully this will at least guide you in the right direction.

these are a nightmare but a good Rover expert will know the right way to do it. I know you can disable it somehow. also is it a rover engine or a honda, you will need to know which it is.

I hope this helps and good luck with the fatherhood. Sorry I don't know more.

    Regards

Central locking system not working

Could be your key fob needs a battery, or the electronic sensor is failing to either receive or recognize the signal from the key fob. May want to contact dealer to have fob or sensor checked.

When we use our key fob to lock the doors, i know we must use the key fob to unlock the doors to avoid the alarm from going off. Recently I parked in a parking garage at an airport (left key fob at home)...

You should be able to just unlock the door with the key, and even if the alarm is still going of try to start it the key should override the alarm.

All windows on my 2000 S-Type were fully open

some models are supplied with a system that when you press a button on the key fob all the windows go down(to let out very hot air when parked in sun) only chassis no/factory data will confirm if this is fitted.no, you cant buy a key fob to make this work....onboard computer has diagnostics though.

Can you replace the battery in an RX8 keyfob? If so how do you open the FOB. I've managed to seperate the key from the alarm but I can see no obvious place to get to the battery.

Assuming you're talking of the key fob, separate to the key (earlier version), then my Owners Manual, page 3-5 describes...

"1. Insert a small screwdriver into the slot and gently pry open the transmitter."

(refers to a slot on the side of the fob where the keyring is held)

Replacement is a CR2025

2006 Chevrolet Uplander Parking Lights Stay On

My 2006 Uplander would not shut off the parking lights. I came here for a solution. I saw the answer here, actually the question, and I used the key fob to lock the vehicle. The lights went off. That was a temporary solve. Now, is this a "glitch" or a "feature"?
