Hi. I have used an older model ELPH camera its quite nice. It sounds that you are using the cable from the camera to the computer to download the photos. I do not know why the error occurred (probably a weak battery ) . Have you tried taking the memory card out of the camera (push it once and it pops out), then insert it into a special SD adapter connected to the computer by USB? Image google sd adapter usb if you do not know what that is. Some computers have the SD slot built in the side. After that on a PC click Start/My Computer where the card should appear as an external storage device. Click on that and on any folders within and your photos should all be there. Select all (Ctrl+A) and copy/paste them into a folder of your choice.

Thank you for your answer... The solution was simple... DELETE ABOUT 100-200 pictures from the memory card, cause it was almost full... and THAT WAS IT...
I could download the pictures as usual... Think its about the capacity of the memory card... or capacity of the camera, I had about 3100 pictures... soooo...! it was the problem that provoke COMMUNICATION ERROR...

Thats great. you could solve the problem. A camera has no limit as to how many photos it takes its just the card. Picasa software allows you all or only selected photos from your camera for when you want to keep a lot of photos on the card and just download new ones. The ones already downloaded will have thumbnails clearly marked as such. And do not forget to save all your photos on media outside your computer or camera as well. Another point is that some cards keep deleted photos in its own trash file, so check on that.

    Thank You VladdyDaddy..
Afortunately I could solve the problem... but I still wonder why this happened, because as you said.. the capacity of pictures depends from the memory card... and this memory card is 4 gigas... so according with the Capacity Table I should be able to save about 20,500 pictures Enclosed the oficial link:http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/p...
So, as you can check... I should have enough space to keep more pictures, but my camera doesnt let me do it.. cause it showed the COMMUNICATION ERROR sign... and checking other solutions in similar problems, they said that their cameras doesnt let them to keep more than 3,000 pictures.. just as this case, where I have 3,120 ... and solution came when I deleted more than 100 pictures..
Sounds strange, I know.. I still wonder about it.. but... as soon as I deleted them, camera started working properly and could download the pictures.
    THANK YOU !!!

Communication error when trying to upload pictures to computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

I would recheck all of my settings on the camera. Go to the menu and check everything one by one. Your card may be damaged also. Do you have another card to try? Do you have your manual? If not you can to to www.olympus.com to download a new manual specifically for your camera and it may address this issue. Good luck.

Canon zoombrowser Ex downloading problem

Try updating the Zoombrowser software.

If you have a connection to the camera, go into my computer and get images directly off the camera using scanner and camera wizard, microsoft's default program. This will at least allow you to transfer your images until you can resolve the software problem.

If you have no connection to the camera via your computer, you need to try some other troubleshooting steps to get a connection. I will post those below in the next post.
