Whether the sun is out or not, a good pair of glasses is crucial. They will help protect your eyes from UV rays and the glare of the sun on the snow - which can cause snow blindness. Think about protecting the whole of your eye from potentially harmful rays - choose 'wrap-arounds' or glasses with protective side-panels.
You should check that the glasses are well suited to the contours of your face - there is nothing worse than the feeling of the frames gradually sliding down your nose as you are cruising/racing along. If you are a champion bumps skier, jump specialist or just extremely accident prone then it may be an idea in invest in a pair of glasses that attach themselves securely to your head - either by wrapping around your ears or with a band around the back of your head. You should never skimp on glasses - you only have one pair of eyes.

Tips on water sports sunglasses

When you're waterskiing, it's imperative that your line of vision is clear. After all, the other skiers, boaters and swimmers count on it. However, between the sun shining and the wind blowing in your face, you don't always see as well as you should. So it's no wonder that more and more waterskiers are investing in water sports sunglasses.
A great pair of water sports sunglasses, like Maui Jim sunglasses, will offer great protection against the sun's harmful UV rays, and yet still be versatile enough to perform all of your favorite water activities. Also, with rubber nose grips and saltwater effectiveness, you'll be looking sharp while watching your friends and family ski - and seeing sharply when it's (finally!) your turn to ski.
So before you head out to the boat, make sure you grab your pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. You'll not only be protecting your eyes, but you'll help be helping to protect everyone else in the water too.

My lens on my brand new glasses are not the same color

If under warranty and you have receipt, it should be ok for replacement/repair. Without that the retailer can make life a bit difficult. P O purchase is very important.

Scratch on my tag heuer sunglasses lens

Hi Karen,
there are a number of places that specialize in replacing scratched or broken sunglass lenses.
www.thesunglassfix.com is probably the largest out there and known for good quality at a great price. However, there are others like fuse.com and your local optomentrist that may have the lenses.
Most offer the option of having the lenses sent out to you or you sending in the frames to get new lenses.

Have tried many of the "buffing out scenarios above" and my personal opinion is they don't work and only make matters worse. Getting new lenses can cost as little as 10% of the purchase price and complete resolves the issue for years.
Good luck Craig

What are the top selling designer sunglass brands?

There are a number of sunglass brands that have made their way to the top of the industry. Some of the industry's most notable sunglass brands include Christian Dior, Smith, Oakley and Burberry. These designer labels offer high quality products, but more importantly, they offer styles and designs unlike any other brands in the industry. If you're worried that you can't afford the high-end, designer label sunglasses there are alternatives. You can purchase discount sunglasses from a number of reputable sources. Discount sunglasses do not necessarily mean replica. They could just be out of season or a model that is on sale because, for some reason it did not sell well in stores. Certain sunglass models will also be less expensive if the vendor has bought wholesale sunglasses. When you buy sunglasses in large amounts, they cost less and therefore can be sold at a discount price.

What is important to consider when buying sunglasses for kids?

Kids tend to spend a lot of time in outdoor activities and that is why it is extremely important to pick high quality sunglass.sunglasses that block 100 percent of the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays are extra important for children. In fact, many experts believe our eyes get 80 percent of their total lifetime exposure to the sun's UV rays by age 18. And since excessive lifetime exposure to UV radiation has been linked to the development of cataracts and other eye problems, it's never too early for kids to begin wearing good quality sunglasses outdoors.

Which designer sunglass companies offer the best in sports sunglasses?

Sports sunglass design is a competitive sector in the eyewear industry. There are many companies competing to produce the best design, highest performance sports sunglasses. When it comes to the best labels in the industry, Oakley and Ray Ban are top-of-the-line designer labels offering extremely effective sports sunglasses. Other companies you may want to consider include Lacoste, Puma and Nike.
Its best to look through a number of models before making a final decision. Sometimes ultimate effectiveness may require purchasing more than one model, depending on how many sports you're interested in. Choosing an effective pair of sunglasses is almost as important as whether or not you win the game almost as important, but not quite.

Which Features I need to look for when purchasing a pair of tennis sunglasses?

Competivision is the first lens technology created specifically for tennis. The concept behind this type of lens technology is simple muting all light except optic yellow allows the ball to pop out of the background so you can see it more clearly. This is a must-have feature for all tennis players. 2.Polycarbonate Lenses-Tennis sunglasses, like other types of sports sunglasses, require polycarbonate lenses for impact and scratch resistance. Tennis players need these types of lenses more for impact and shatter resistance than anything else. 3.Polarized Lenses-Polarized lenses are extremely important in most sports - tennis is no exception. 5. UV Protection-UV protection is a very important element in any outdoor sport. It's not enough to simply have UV protection anymore, you have to make sure the sunglasses you choose provide 100 percent UVA, UVB and UVC protection.

Shop before you get to the mountain, so you don't end up paying an inflated price.

Look for anti-fogging features such as double lenses, anti-fog coating and wide vents
