The 2 doors on my Maytag SXS aren't even in the front when they close. The refig side sticks out. The doors are otherwise level and even in all respects. I adjusted top & bottom hin

Hello Joe;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

This was your first time setting the gap between the doors. So, I will share with you the various ways to adjust the doors gap.

1.) On the bottom of some doors there are adjustment screws for pitching the door left or right to set the gap. This was a good design idea, but there is not locking nut to hold the setting. Opening and closing the door will remove the setting. So, if you have these adjust screws, we will forget them.

2.) Lets try this: Adjust the front leveling bolts. Loosen the top of the door hinges. If the gap is smaller at the top, lower the leveling bolt up on the left hand side. Turn the bolt counter clockwise to raise. Pound on the doors to free them to adjust. If the gap is smaller on the bottom, on the right jacking screw, raise the jack bolt by turning the jack bolt clockwise. Once again, pound on the door to free for the adjustment. Then tighten to top door hinges.

3.) OK, This did not set the gap. The gap between the door is different depending on the model. Determine the gap which you would like to set. Using something solid like pieces of wood (do not use cardboard it will crush), loosen the top hinges, evenly space the wedges and tape them to the door. Now tighten the top hinges and remove the wedges.

4.) Ok, This did not set the gap. Look on the bottom of the door at the hinge. You have a matching set of grommets. These grommets interlock when the doors close to keep the doors closed. These are high wear components. The doors rest on these components. One grommet set may be more warn than the other affecting the door gap

Montgomery ward side by side HMG 229637B ... defrost timer does not cycle ... have relaced defrost timer .. STILL DOES NOT cycle ...if i manually cycle coils heat ... defrost etc etc BUT refridgerator does...

turn the allen screws one is under the hindge side of freezer door and one is under fridge hindge side of door turn counter clockwise be carefull turn to far the adjustment screw will come out of the wheel adjustment bracket.also try having someone tilt refrigator back by pushing top of refrigator then turning the two white adjustment screws in same area of allen screw this adjust the front of the refrigator you may want to adjust the front adjustment so the refrigator is slightly tilted to the back this will help close the doors.

Blade is tipping on the wheel and ruining the blades just wondering how to adjust the wheel. or is it the top wheel or the bottom ,one must be out of line

It sounds like the upper wheel is tilted out and what happens is the blade will drift outward. What you need to do is power off the unit, open up the upper and lower wheel doors, find the adjustment knob on the back of the upper wheel, and adjust this while spinning the wheel by hand.

The blade needs to be on the machine when you do this and do not try to make this adjustment with the power on. Make small adjustments till the blade tracks in the center of the upper and lower wheel.

NOTE: Prior to re-elignment, make sure the tension on the blade is set to the correct tension. This will differ depending on the blade thickness. You want the blade to be tight, but don't over tighten the blade because this could cause wear or even cause the blade to snap when using the bandsaw.

I hope this helps.

I have a chopper,1974 harley shovel head w/side shift-The breaks are drums off a pan head I think a 1957.I need to adjust the front break, can you help me.even a diagram.

The front brake is cable operated on all Panheads. There is a tube that the cable runs down through to the brake backing plate. At the top of the tube is an adjuster. Hold the top of the adjuster and turn the nut raising the adjuster. This tightens the brake.

If the adjuster is all the way up, you'll have to lower it all the way back down. Then pull your front wheel off and loosen the cable clamp on the cable. Pull the slack out of the cable and retighten the clamp. Put the front wheel and brake drum back on and adjust the brake at the top of the tube.

If you need a drawing, contact me a wd4ity@bellsouth.net . Remind me of what you need.

Good Luck

Right rear wheel out of camber, toed in at top cant seem to adjust to specs, could it be a bent strut?

If you "run out of adjustment", the most probable problem is a bent strut carrier/bearing knuckle. Frame shops can coax these back into spec, but another solution is to source a used unit from a salvage yard. Of course, a 4-wheel alignment is in order once the parts have been installed. Good luck.

Our side by side freezer door opens slightly

That is a common occurrance for side by side refrigerators. Closing the fresh food door is like having your car windows closed and closing the door. You can feel the air pressure on your ears. In the refrigerator, the air passes through the duct and into the freezer pushing the door open. The magnet on the door gasket should keep it closed. But it may be the freezer door needs the hinges adjusted to the door seats better when closed. Take the plastic cover off the top hinge and you can loosen the screws (don't take them out) and adjust the door slightly (so it looks even between both doors) and tighten the screws up. The top of the door should be level with the top of the unit, and the gap between the doors even the whole way down.

Engine run rough at idler and surges

I would change the fuel filter and see if that don't help. You might give it a good tune up and adjust the timing. ( If it has a carburetor then adjust the carb too.

2002 Pontiac Sunfire rear brakes locking when cold???

Yes i fixed the problem i had to remove my backing plate and grind them smoth where the brake shoes rub on them then. I put some high temp brake grease between the shoes and the backing plate works great now!!! seems like the backing plate gets grided down by the metal from the brake shoes throug the years.. You will see the metal on the backing plate will have some ridges on them so make sure you grind them smoth

Have you given the deck a service lately?
Have you adjusted the horizontal elevations?
Have you adjusted the counter balance arm?

Once the horizontal is adjusted the do the arm counter weight,

Try this and let me know if this helps.
